Who?What?Where?
Who - 누구 - nugu
What - 무엇 (often > 뭐) - mwot / mwo
Where - 어디 - eodi
Who,What and Where are Pronouns.They need particles to be specified for their functions,such as subject,object,adverbial etc.
Let us learn -을 (-eul) & -를 (reul) which are object markers.
-을 is used when there is a final consonant.
-를 is for elsewhere.
NOTE: 어디 (where) is also a noun (pronoun) , while "where" in English is not.
SUBJECT OBJECT
WHAT 무엇이(=뭐가) 무엇를(=뭐를)
WHO 누구가(누가) 누구를
WHERE 어디가 어디를
Example:
What is difficult?
무엇이 어려워요?
mwot-i eoryeowoyo?
Who is coming?
누가 와요?
Nuga wayo?
Where is hurt?
어디가 아파요?
eodiga apayo?
What do you learn?
무엇을 배워요?
mwoteul baewoyo?
Sample Dialouge:
Q: 누가 세요? nuga seyo? Who is it?
A: 순이에요. Suni eyo. It's Sunny.
Q: 누가를 마나요? nugareul manayo? Whom are you meeting?
A: 유리를 마나요. Yurireul manayo. I meet Yuri.
Q: 무엇이에요? Mwot ieyo? What is it?
A: 서과이에요. sagwa ieyo. It is an apple.
(Apple = sagwa 사과)
Q: 무엇을 촣아하세요? mwoteul choahaseyo? What do you like?
A: 사과를 촣아해요. Sagwareul choahaeyo. I like apples.
Q: 어디에 있어요? eodie isseoyo? Where is it?
A: 서울에 있어요. seoul e isseoyo. It is in Seoul.
