A month ago, I had joined the Stormcloak rebellion. I regretted my decision, but my love for Skyrim made me stay. I would never let my hatred for our leader or his bear-headed buddy get in the way of that. Although Ulfric knew I despised him and his awful racism, he never stopped trying to get into my pants. He was always buying me expensive things like jewelry or clothes, and he was always making his chef cook me delicious meals. Everyone around me thought he was being sweet and he was "in love" with me. I thought them all naive fools. I thought that man knew nothing about love, nor did he know anything about me. I had never been a materialistic girl. I always believed that actions speak much louder than pretty objects.

I sat on my bed in the barracks and hummed quietly as I read a book about the history of Skyrim. Suddenly, Jorlief entered the barracks and approached my bed.

"The Jarl requests your presence at once." He said. I rolled my eyes as I closed the book and stood up.

"What does his majesty
want with me now?" I asked, crossing my arms. He smiled knowingly, but shrugged.

"I don't know, miss." He said. I eyed him carefully as I walked out and to the palace. I entered and from the distance, I saw Ulfric sit up and smile lightly at me.

"Ah, (y/n)." He said. "I'm glad you came." I sighed and walked closer. I had to act nice, which was almost useless.

"What is it, my Jarl?" I asked, sarcastically.

"I wanted to propose something to you." He said with a grin. I rolled my eyes again.

"I'm not going to marry you." I retorted, earning a somehow attractive chuckle.

"Oh, no." He said. "Not that." I narrowed my eyes and furrowed my brow.

"What, then?" I asked, resting a hand on my hip.

"I'd like you to accompany me to dinner." He said, sounding sincere. I looked at him, amused.

"Why?" I asked accusingly.

"Because I happen to enjoy your company." He said seriously. I looked at him closely for a moment.

"All right." I sighed. "When and where?" For some reason, I felt a tinge of excitement. Maybe it was the free food.

"Tonight." He said before pointing at the table in the middle of the hall. "Here."

"Okay." I said simply. "I'll... see you then." With that, I turned on my heal and walked out and back to my cozy bed. I ended up falling asleep with the same book in my hand. I knew the Jarl wouldn't be happy, but I was so tired.

"(Y/n)." A deep, slightly angry sound woke me up from my much needed nap. I looked up and saw Ulfric.

"Oh, shit." I chuckled, yawning. "Our dinner. Let's go, then." I stood up to walk out, but he grabbed my wrist.

"That was last night." He growled. I yanked my wrist away

"Well, I'm sorry." I snapped. "A soldier tends to get tired after fighting her leader's battles for him!" He frowned, but he no longer looked angry, he looked slightly hurt. "I'm sorry, Ulfric, I-" He put his hand up, interrupting me.

"If you did not want to have dinner with me, you should have said so." He snarled.

"Why was it so important to you?" I asked. "Why do you care so much that I stood you up? Answer me!"

"Gods damn it, (y/n)! Shut up!" He yelled. I jumped slightly and stepped back.

"What's the matter?" I taunted. "Angry that I won't let you bed me?!" He looked at me in disbelief.

"You think that's what I want?" He asked softly.

"Well, what else would a bastard like you want from a girl like me?!" I yelled at him. I instantly regretting my words as I saw the true pain in his eyes.

"I can't believe I-" he started. "I can't believe I even fell in love with you."

"Wha- you love me?" I asked, eyes wide and mouth gaping.

"Yes." He snapped. "Yes, I love you. But after this, fuck you." He glared me down before he stormed out of the building. I sat down, still in shock, tears filling the brims of my eyes.

"He loves me..." I whispered to myself. After a few hours of thinking, I ran to the palace and up to his throne. I asked his steward where he was and he said he was upstairs, so upstairs I went. I ran up and saw him walking to his bedroom. I ran up to him and grabbed his large arm. I would've been amazed by his muscles if I hadn't been freaking out. He turned around and glared at me.

"What do you want?" He asked grimly.

"Ulfric." I said, just above a whispered.

"Come here to insult me some more?" He asked, glaring daggers at me.

"No." I spat out, shaking my head frantically. "Ulfric, I didn't mean those things I said."

"Oh really?" He said sarcastically.

"Ulfric, I'm so sorry." I pleaded. "Please forgive me." His face softened when he saw real tears in my eyes he hugged me tightly. I pulled back and decided to try a thing. I leaned in and kissed his lips softly, and the most unexpected thing occurred; I felt a spark and my heart went wild. I couldn't believe it. I loved this man without even realizing it.

"I love you, (y/n)." He whispered. "Please believe me when I say that." I nodded and kissed him again.

"I do, and I love you too." I hugged him tighter and buried my face in his rather large, muscled chest.
