Policemen, Jail, and Kamari
I hated the hospital.
The smell bought back some buried and dark memories. I couldn't help but shiver at them. They were the memories that terrorized me in my sleep. They weren't suppose to bother me when I was awake, but being in the hospital made then come out and push their way into the front of my mind until all I could think and feel were the cold, sweet, deathly touch of those memories.
Suddenly, a hand pressed softly down on my shoulder. I turned too see Aaron standing beside me with a small smile on his lips. He seemed to have sensed my discomfort and tighten his grip on my shoulder.
"You okay?" He asked.
I hesitated before I nodded my head.
"Yeah. I'm fine." I mumbled even though I was far from being fine.
I could still feel the needles in my arms since my last visit to the hospital. I could still feel my sharp nails dig into my skin, hungry for freedom. Freedom from the hell that was inside me.
"You're having flashbacks?" Aaron asked, turning his body fully towards me until all I could see was him.
"This isn't suppose to be about me. This is suppose to be about Derek." I spoke coolly. "Plus, I told you I'm fine."
"You're a pretty bad liar." He raised a brow. "Derek can wait. If you're not okay in here then we can just go outside for some fresh air. Do you want me to get your parents?"
"No. No, it's okay. I'll be fine." I assured him.
I didn't want my memories to get in the way of supporting my friend's boyfriend. Derek has helped me out too, so it was only fair to support him right now. As a way to say 'thank you' for what he has done for me.
Aaron took a few seconds to look into my eyes. His eyes bore deeply into mine until he found what he was looking for and looked away. A sigh left his lips as he took his hand in mine. I shivered at his touch and lifted my gaze to him. He wasn't looking at me when he spoke.
"If at any moment you feel it's too much then tell me, okay? It doesn't even have to be me. Just tell someone. I don't want you losing your cool or anything and having to end up back in this place."
"Trust me, neither do I, but thank you." We locked eyes for what felt like a thousand years before a voice interrupted.
"Come on you two lovebirds." Sean called, waving his hands in the air like a maniac.
Aaron rolled his eyes before turning to me. "Where are those two friends of yours?"
"Parker and Emily?" I asked and he nodded. "They decided to wait in the car."
"Everyone is waiting for you!" Sean screamed, growing impatient.
"We're coming, we're coming!"
Aaron and I followed Sean into Derek's room. The whole room was filled. Mom opened the window to let some air in and sat in a chair next to dad while the rest of us circled around Derek.
"All of you are here?" He gawked at us before a smile settled on his face. "Well, I'll be dammed! The Lexingtons do care about a poor soul like me."
I cleared me throat. This caught Derek's attention.
"I'm here too." I commented.
"I know. I always took you for a Lexington. You're always around them. You blend."
"I don't know if I should take that as a compliment..." I mumbled as I turned hesitantly to my parents who seemed to be having their own conversation with Mrs. Lexington.
