I had all the confidence in the world before when that girl was hitting on my boyfriend in front of me. Standing in front of the mirror now, I have no idea where any of that assurance went.
“You look fine Lauren” Amanda sighed when I pouted in the mirror. I couldn’t find the right dress. “We’re going to be late” she whined. I couldn’t even crack a smile for her but I promised myself that I would try and have a good time tonight. Especially with Niall. “Since when am I the one convincing you that you look hot? I’m supposed to be the one pouting” she joked.
“Alright fine. This will just have to do.” I settled on a coral/orange dress. It was low cut in the back and stopped maybe two or three inches below my ass. This was sure to get Niall’s attention tonight. “Let’s just go” I groaned.
“He’ll go crazy once he sees what’s under that dress” Amanda winked. I bought new lingerie for his birthday weekend. I want hot sex tonight. It’s been too long.
We walked into the house and Amanda ran off, probably to find Liam. I spotted my boyfriend. He was drunk off his ass already. I could tell by the way he slurred his words and the way he was laughing. Girls surrounded Niall. All of them dressed slutty and laughing way too hard. He barely noticed all the female attention. I guess he’s just used to it.
I wasn’t going up to him first even if it was his birthday. Technically it wasn’t but still. If he wanted to find me all he had to do was look up. Instead I made my way towards the keg. I just finished pouring myself a cup when it was ripped from my hands. It was my favorite big brother.
“Seriously?” I placed my hands on my hips and stared him down.
“I think you should take it easy your first night back.”
“Okay dad” I mocked. “I am taking it easy. It’s one beer. Trust me I need it” I said as my eyes fell on Niall and the sluts surrounding him. Louis grabbed me by the hand and dragged me outside. “What?”
“Some brotherly advice” he smiled. We both sat on the railing of the back deck. “If you ‘need’ it, that’s a problem. You don’t need it.”
“It’s just beer Louis” I complained.
“Do you really want to be with him?”
“Yes” I answered looking away form him.
“You know how he is” Louis continued even though I made it obvious I didn’t want to have this conversation with him. “He loves that attention.”
“I know Louis” I gritted through my teeth. “Not now. Please.”
“You’re my baby sister. I’m just trying to look out for you.”
“Well I’m not a baby anymore” I snapped and hopped off the railing.
“But thanks” I smiled over my shoulder.
If it wasn’t crowded enough around him more girls gathered around Niall. I’m not a clingy girlfriend. I didn’t need to spend every moment with my boyfriend but it would have been nice if he gave me an ounce of attention. For once I would like if he looked at me like I was the only person in the room. But Louis was right. I knew what I was getting myself in to. I just had to trust him.
I grabbed another cup and filled it with beer before finding an empty room to catch my breath in.
“You are aware this is your boyfriend’s birthday party, right?” Zayn leaned on the doorframe with his arms folded over his chest. I didn’t realize I escaped to his room. Zayn looked really good dressed in all black. Maybe it was the lack of sex in my life that my mind was clouded with memories of Zayn’s tongue in my mouth and his hands sliding up and down my body.
