Chapter 7 - Just One Drop.

Start from the beginning

"I'm sorry." I heard Caspian say next to me.

"You have nothing to apologize for." I said back to him.

"I can tell it makes you upset when Peter gets angry. I'm sorry. He just..." He started to say, but he couldn't find the right words to say.

"I'm sorry that Peter said that about your father. He was wrong. Narnia needs people like you. I don't think he meant it, but still, please don't believe Narnia would be better off without you." I told him when I finally turned to him.

"What if he's right? I'm not a soldier, but I was raised in the same environment. I was raised a Telmarine. My uncle is the man who wants to destroy all of the Narnians. Why would they want someone like me, a man who has evil in his family, to lead them?"

"Don't say that." I said to him, "You're not like your people. You're different. You give these people hope. From what I've seen, it's very obvious that you are the first person to ever give the Narnians a chance to gain their freedom back. They need someone like you to help lead them. You and Peter need to learn how to lead together. Peter is always used to being the leader, but ever since we left Narnia, he's become more angry. He won't admit it to himself, but he'll learn soon enough. I know what it's like to believe that the Narnians won't accept you because of your family. Your uncle is Miraz. My mother is the White Witch. When Marcel and I were first born, the Narnians believed that we were evil, but then when they actually saw us and what we were capable of, they realized that we weren't evil. That's the same thing with you. The Narnians believed that all of the Telmarines were evil, but when they met you, they realized that not all Telmarines are evil. There are still good people out there. You are capable to lead these people Caspian. Don't ever doubt that."

Caspian down at me for a moment before a small smile started to form on his face. He placed his hand on my shoulder.

"Thank you, Hazel."

"Are you so glad of that magic horn now, boy?" A voice said from behind me, which caused me to jump.

I turned around and saw Nikabrik walking towards us. My face immediately hardened. Was he really trying to talk bad about us when I was right in front of him?

"Your kings and queens have failed us." He said to Caspian.

"That's not true." I said to him as I glared down at him. I may be upset with Peter right now, but I wasn't going to let Nikabrik change Caspian's mind about them.

"Your army's half dead." Nikabrik continued on, like I wasn't even there, "And those that aren't will be soon enough."

"What are you talking about?" Caspian asked him.

"You want your uncle's blood. So do we." Nikabrik said with a grin starting to form on his face, "You want his throne? We can get it for you."

Nikabrik walked past us and motioned for us to follow him. Caspian hesitated before slowly walking behind him. I reached out and grabbed his arm, which caused him to look back at me.

"What are you doing?!" I asked him, "We don't know what he's going to do!"

"If there is any chance at defeating my uncle, I need to consider all options." He said.

He tugged his arm out of my grip and followed the tunnel. I let out a sigh before walking after him. I wasn't going to let Caspian die over something that we have no idea about. We followed the tunnel, and we ended up underneath the arch that was in front of the stone table.

"You tried one ancient power. It failed. But there is a power greater still. One that kept even Aslan at bay for near a hundred years." Nikabrik said.
