Magi - Ja'far X Reader Oneshot Book 2

You were always falling, in more than one way.

Since your very first years of life you were always described as sleepy during the day and a nightmare during night. Narcolepsy was the name of your issues.

Yes, indeed, you had an issue and this wasn't an easy one to deal with, but that never changed the fact that you were a happy person! You had your passions in life, you enjoyed drawing and you absolutely loved astronomy, it made your heart flutter with excitement at the thought of an adventure. That's why, when you met Sinbad, you got inspired to follow him despite you always falling asleep.

Sinbad was like the sun since the very beginning, everyone was absolutely dazed by his charming looks and beaming personality, it was hard to say no to someone like him. Maybe that's one of the reasons why he made you a bit sleepy at the end of the day, it kind of drained your energy.

Because of your condition you could get kind of clumsy. Getting easily tired by various factors made you susceptible to falling asleep in inconvenient places and situations, causing you to fall asleep and then fall down.

While Sinbad would always, being the bright sun he is, encourage you to keep trying and giving your very best, it wasn't really the sun who saved you every time. It was the moon.

Silent and cautious, yet beautiful and calming, stood the moon by the sun's side, not really being noticed. That was how you saw Ja'far since the day you joined Sinbad.

While Sin seemed to be the kind of person to only slow down to help you up when you fell but then continued to run, Ja'far was more of the kind to walk by your side, watching over you with concern.

As you often found this sweet of him you two ended up becoming rather fond, ending up as a couple after a few years.

You calmly walk through the Sindrian palace, your mind wondering while looking out of the many windows in the hallway. A content smile rises in your lips. //Such a nice weather today… I should take advantage on it and go outside for a while// you think.

A sudden fresh breeze blows by, carrying with it the scent of the sea.

Your steps become slower as a sudden wave of tiredness hits you, eyes closing as your legs become unable to support you out of the blue.

You prepare to hit the floor but, tiredly, open your eyes when you feel two arms holding you.

You look up, your (e/c) eyes meeting Ja'far's green ones, “Ah, Ja'far, thanks” you say as the man pulls you up, “Think nothing of it, just be careful” he says with concerned look, you smile sadly, “I try but at the end of the day I'm always a bother for you” you say with disappointment.

“I don't mind at all” he says while flashing you a small smile, “Even if I keep falling?” You ask, your eyes turning slightly hopeful at the thought of Ja'far worrying about you, “Even if you keep falling I'll catch you” he tells you with a smile which you soon return

“Really?”

“Really, after all I've got you”
