"You're a nerd."

You sat at the table in the library, reading over all the books about potions and above. You had a test soon, a very very big test and it was hard for you to retain information from class. When you take time to write something down, you are missing whatever important information your teacher says next.

You pulled out your pocket watch, realizing that soon you were going to have to go back to the Ravenclaw dorm. You collected all your books into a pile and grabbed them all at once and attempted to carry them through the halls.

You wandered around, exploring a little bit as you walked back to your dorm. To your surprise, one of your books suddenly lifted in the air, nearly hitting you in the chin.

"Well, well, well Y/N. I am beginning to think you don't like me." You turned your head to see your boyfriend with his wand out, using it to hold your book in the air.

Crap. You totally forgot. Jackson wanted you to sneak out of school with a few other kids and set some pranks up around campus. It's not like you wanted to do that, its just you were in the wrong crowd.

"Jackson. Please give me my-"

He cut you off, "Honestly, Y/N. Tell me: do you or do you not still like me?" Your eyes trailed too his neck where his house coloured scarf hung. Green and white. Jackson truely wasn't that bad of a guy, he just had some faults.

You saw someone else enter the hall from a long distance, but you ignored whoever it was. "Of course I do," You slightly snapped, "you are my boyfriend."

"Good. Why didn't you come then?" You could tell Jackson was getting angry and so you backed off a little.

"I-I was.." He always made fun of you for actually trying to do school, so you were hesitant to respond. "s-studying.." You turned your head away which allowed you to see that whoever was walking closer, was in fact.. getting closer.

Your eyes whipped back to Jackson when you felt a firm grip on your wrist. "Studying? Seriously, Y/N?" You could practically hear venom in his voice. He brought the book he still had in the air to his hands to read the title. "You are studying for potions? Y/N, you know you suck at that. Studying won't do you any good, don't be even more stupid. You should have came."

He said that right as the other boy walked past, the other boy looked quite familiar. You had him in some of your classes.

Your eyes began to tear up, you had been to scared to break up with Jackson but right there he crossed the line. You didn't know how to react.

"She is actually very smart, you.." You heard the boy walking past mutter, but he got to quiet and you couldn't hear the last part he said.

Jackson had apparently heard as well and turned to look at the boy in a Hufflepuff scarf. "What did you just say?"

"I said-" The boy squeaked a little so he cleared his voice and repeated himself. "I said Y/N is actually quite smart." He swallowed a bit as he was hovered over by your boyfriend.

"What do you know, Scamander? You are just a nerd." Jackson thruster forward at the boy and the boy flinched slightly.

Scamander looked up at your boyfriend, holding his ground. "I happen to know quite a lot, you could say.."

Jackson huffed at the boy again, "You don't know about anything except for unicorns and rainbows."

"Then why did you call me a nerd?"

"What did you say?"

You decided to speak up, not wanting to get this nice Scamander kid into this mess. "You called him a nerd, that usually implies he is smart in all aspects."

Jackson snapped his head towards you, "Shut up, Y/N! I wasn't talking to you!"

"And neither are you ever again. Jackson, I am fed up with you!" You angrily shouted as you took a step forward to Jackson, instantly regretting what you said. Thou gulped as his reaction.

Some foot steps were heard coming down the hallway so Jackson decided he needed to go, "Y/N! We are not done.." Then with that he ran off.

The Scamander boy ran up to you to see if you were all right, "Do you have any scratches? Are you all right? Did he-"

You cut him off by grabbing his wrist, "I am fine, thank you for helping.." You muttered with a smile. "I am Y/N. Y/N L/N."

"I am Newt Scamander." He smiled sweetly at you as he picked up the potion book Jackson had left on the ground. "Here.."

You took the book happily and added it to the stack of other books.

"Say, if you need help with studying potions.." Newt awkwardly offered his help which made you lightly laugh.

"Thank you. Yes." You smiled an ear to ear bright eyes smile.

"Alright, I will see you around, Y/N.." He smiled back at you as the two of you took your separate ways.
