What if you had the ability to write? What if you couldn't control the story you created? And what if, the magic kingdom your hands are so keen on writing about turned out to be real?
Alessandra is used to the way things are. Life isn't great, but i...
Alessandra ran away from Tremaen. She ran for the rooftop.
The Tree's roots seemed to clear a spot for her, as they did when she approached it.
Where's Dmitri? She thought to the tree. She needed answers, or she would explode.
How could this be possible? She was sure she was born only 17 years ago. She couldn't be the Queen.
But she was.
How?
"In his chambers".
Tell Irvin something came up. I can't go tonight.
She could feel it in the tree's roots, feel Ollie understanding what had happened.
Now she had to understand.
And so she went downstairs, and let herself remember.
Like this, she guided herself. She was walking hallways she had never walked before, not as Alessandra.
She reached the throne room.
She just then realized she had never seen it, the throne where she once sat. It looked the same, made out of trees, branches reaching up to the ceiling. But now, there was a second throne, exactly the same, next to it.
Behind them there was a door, another staircase and finally, a hallway with the door at the end.
It was Dmitri's room, the door clearly a King's door. Bigger, darker, prettier.
She wondered if it had once been her room.
Once she was close, she noticed it had a night sky painted on it, seen from under the forest's canopy.
She got in without knocking.

Dmitri was sitting on his bed, putting socks on. He had the grey cotton shirt and black cotton trousers he had lent to Alessandra the first night on his cabin.
"Did you like the door? Your friend made it for me just before she left", Dmitri said.
"It's pretty".
"So you did see the door?"
"Yes, I saw it".
"Why didn't you knock, then?"
Alessandra glared at Dmitri.
"Sit, will you?" Dmitri said with a sigh. Alessandra scanned the room. Her own seemed so small compared to Dmitri's. And her room wasn't small at all.
