Chapter 12: The Chunin Exams

Now the four stood in a river that leads to a water fall, collecting trash, mostly cans. Of course, Naruto lost balance and was swept away by the current. "AHHH!!" he screamed as he fell off the water fall. Naruto closed his eyes and waited for the impact. Instead (Y/n) stood upside down on a branch, holding a rope as Sasuke held on to it, grabbing Naruto by his ankle. "You idiot," Sasuke insulted. "Oi! Duckbutt! Leave him alone!" (Y/n) pouted. "Don't call him a duckbutt, Hatake!" Sakura yelled from the cliff. "Quiet pinky!!"

"Hey! Please stop!" Naruto yelled. The Genin were now walking dogs. Naruto had gotten a large dog that was twice as strong as him. The other three had gotten small puppies. "That idiot..." Sasuke insulted once again. "What'd I say Uchiha?!" (Y/n) yelled from afar, making Sasuke flinch. (Y/n) followed Naruto as she ran with her small puppy. The dog kept dragging the blonde away into a danger zone. "That's a trap field over there... Yikes!!" Naruto yelled as the explosions began to trigger. Sasuke and Sakura watched in shock as the explosions triggered one by one. (Y/n) just smiled from behind the fence. A few minutes later, all of the traps had gone off leaving Naruto burnt to a crisp as his dog panted beside him.

Group Seven walked along the streets as Sasuke and Sakura carried the knucklehead. "It's because you're so reckless!" Sakura scolded. "Hn, you are so much trouble." Sasuke teased, drawing the last straw for Naruto. "ZAZUGE" Naruto yelled, barely coherent, as he launched for Sasuke, only to be stopped by Sakura. "You act up anymore, I'll finish you!" Sakura warned. (Y/n) stepped up and removed Sakura's arm from the way. "Go get him, Naruto!" she yelled. Sasuke turned around in surprise at (Y/n)'s actions and was tackled by Naruto. "At least there is some form of teamwork..." Kakashi sighed. The three watched as Sasuke kicked Naruto off and tied him by the hands and feet. (Y/n) sighed as she walked up to the knucklehead. "At least ya tried," she smiled from behind her mask as she untied the Genin. "But it's not good teamwork..." Kakashi sighed once again. "That's right! It's all your fault Sasuke! You're always attracting attention!" Naruto imputed. "That's you idiot." the Uchiha said. "If you don't want to owe me big time, you just have to become stronger than me..." Sasuke said as he glared at the blonde, making him scowl. 'It seems like they're getting worse and worse every day...' Sakura said as she watched in worry. "Well then...." the jonin mumbled. "(Y/n) step in..." he said as he looked down at the girl. "Got it.." she nodded. (Y/n) walked in the middle of the two and pulled them into a hug. 'Fluster them both. That'll for sure change the atmosphere!' "You guys know I love you with all of my heart, right?" (Y/n) said as he pulled down her mask, giving a kiss to both of their cheeks. "Aha! I love ya too, dattebayo!" Naruto hugged the girl back. Sasuke just stood there as his face reddened. "Alright, I need to hand in reports to the Hokage," Kakashi said as he began walking away. "Okay then, I'm going home," Sasuke began walking the other way trying to calm himself down. "Bye Sasuke-kun~!" (Y/n) sang in a sweet and seemingly innocent tone, making Sasuke's efforts in calming down futile. "Oh! Hey! Sasuke-kun, wait for me!" Sakura chased after him. "Uh, wai-!" the knucklehead hesitantly held out his hand reaching out to Sakura. (Y/n) placed her hand on the blonde's shoulder. "Give it up Naru..." she sighed as she pulled him the other way. "Hey, how about... Why don't you and... Why don't we work on improving our team work together?" Sakura said in a sweet voice. Sasuke's once flustered expression turned into a stoic one. "You're just like Naruto. If you have the time to spend on me, why don't you practice your jutsu. To tell you frankly, your abilities are less than Naruto's!" Sasuke turned and walked away. Sakura was left standing there sulking from the Uchiha's words.

As Naruto and (Y/n) walked off, they were being approached by a rock. As Naruto turned around, he squinted at the two perfect circles that were cut into said rock. 'Are they hiding as a rock..?' both Genin thought. Without catching anybody's eyes, (Y/n) appeared behind said rock and lifted it up, revealing three kids. "Darn it! Foiled again!" The three looked up at the two Genin and began dramatically introducing themselves as the two watched dumbfounded. So, leader. Do you have any free time now?" Moegi approached the blonde. "I have to train!" he cheered. "What?! You said you'd play ninja with us today!" Konohamaru exclaimed. "Oh come on Naru! Play with them. I'm sure one day without training won't harm!" (Y/n) said catching the attention of the three. "Wow, leader! Who is this? She's so pretty!" Moegi and Udon exclaimed. "Oh! That's my teammate, (Y/n)!" Naruto said proudly. Sakura depressingly walked up to the five. "Hmph... Why would a ninja play Ninja...?" she said in a low voice. She stared blankly at the five in front of her. "Naruto, who's she?" Konohamaru questioned. Once he finally thought it clicked, he patted Naruto on the back. "You've been busier than I thought, bro... Is she your girlfriend?" the kid gave a suggestive face to the blonde. (Y/n) busted out laughing as she fell to the floor. "Hehe, you guys are pretty sharp for kids!" Naruto blushed as he scratched the back of his head. "Yeah right!!" Sakura snapped as she punched the knucklehead. "Nii-chan!!" Konohamaru and (Y/n) yelled in sync. Moegi and Udon quickly ran to Naruto's aid as Konohamru confronted Sakura. You ugly wench! Ugly wench!" he yelled at her, making her madder. She began to crack her knuckles and approached the kid until she loomed over him. "NOOOOOO!"
