"Hello? Are you gonna tell me or what?" Luke asks me with an annoyed look on his face.
My hands started to get sweaty, I was shaking on the inside, I don't know want to tell him but he's gonna find out either way.
"It's just my diary, I named my diary Francis," I lied to him.
"You named your diary Francis?" Luke asks.
He opens the book and starts to read what's inside. He starts to chuckle a bit as he closes the book and looks at me.
"Are you writing songs for Francis?" He laughed.
I've been exposed. What was I thinking? I make really bad decisions when I'm panicking. Note to self: never invite Luke over to your house.
"Yes, I am," I said hesitantly.
He started to laugh at me, was it really that funny? Is it really that weird to write songs about a girl who you've barely had contact with for years? Well, now that I say that I guess it does make sense. I'm a total weirdo and Luke is gonna tell Francis, I know he will.
"I've gotta tell Francis, this is some good stuff, you can't keep your talents a secret," Luke says sarcastically, "You need to confess your love for Francis!"
"I'm not gonna do that and neither are you," I said to him, "You ruined things with Francis once, I'm not gonna let you do it again."
Yes, again. I'm sure you've all been wondering who Luke really is, well here we go. Luke is my ex-stepbrother if that's how you say it. My mom was married to his dad for a whole 2 months in the 8th grade. Luke wasn't happy that he had a new stepmom so he decided to direct his anger toward me.
At this point, Francis and I weren't on the best of terms, we barely talked and I was really missing her. I wrote a lot of poems in the 8th grade, a lot of really bad poems. Most of them were for Francis. I kept all of them in a brown leather notebook. Luke found that brown leather notebook. You wanna guess what Luke did with that notebook? He made a bunch of copies of the pages and he spread them all over the school. It really embarrassed Francis so that's why she really decided to stop talking to me. I never heard a word from Francis after that day, well of course, until today.
"You're not still upset about that, right?" Luke asks, "We're brothas! Get over it dude."
Brotha? Seriously? When did he ever consider me a brother? What a load of bullshit.
"Brother? Yeah right, we never considered each other brothers." I said to him.
"That might have to change," Luke said, "Rumor has it that our parents are getting back together."
My mom doesn't tell me anything, she's really considering getting back together with that pile of shit named Andy?
"I didn't know that," I said to him, "Just because we might be stepbrothers again doesn't mean that we have to actually consider each other brothers."
"I wouldn't mind having a brother, all of mine hate me," Luke said with a tone of regret, "Can we forget what happened and maybe start over?"
I felt bad for him, he wanted a brother and his didn't like him. He is right, all that stuff did happen in the 8th grade. Maybe I should forgive him.
"Ok fine, brother," I said as I punched his arm, "But now that we're brothers, you can't go snitching on me to Francis, ok?
Luke smiled at me and punched me back, not a real punch, a bro punch. I'm just assuming that's what they're called.
"Ok ok, I won't tell Francis." He said to me.
"Thanks, I really appreciate it," I said to him.
I don't really believe him, he's being quite out of character. He's definitely up to something, you can't trust a guy like Luke Hemmings.
