Will looked for his friend for a while. Finally, he found her outside near the lacrosse field, sitting on the bleachers.
He walked up to Y/n and sat down, not saying a word. Him and Y/n were practically siblings and he knew it was better to let her speak when she was ready.
They sat there in silence for a long time, ignoring the school bell when it rang. Y/n couldn't concentrate on any lesson lately anyway, and Will always put his friends first and if that meant missing class, then so be it.
After 30 minutes, Y/n looked at the boy. He looked terrified. Will nodded without breaking eye contact to encourage her to speak.
"It's about Camila." The words fell out of Y/n's mouth like they had been rehearsed over and over again in her head. And they had. Y/n had feared the moment she would have to admit feelings, she never had to do it and it terrified her, but it also relieved her.
She saw the look in Will's eyes, a look that said that it was okay to feel what she felt and it felt like a huge weight had been lifted of her shoulders.
"I know." In normal circumstances, Will would have laughed and shouted, teasing his friend about her feelings that he had guessed a while ago, but he knew that Y/n needed his help, so he stayed serious.
"I just... I can't get her out of my head. I try and I try... and it's like I'm stuck in this thing where she's the only one that matters." Y/n's words started out tangled and unsure, but the end of her sentence was the surest thing she had ever said.
Despite her inability to put a word on it, Y/n knew that Camila mattered to her. Will thought it through for a moment, wondering whether or not he should be subtle. He decided to be blunt.
"That thing is called feelings. You like her."
"What are you talking about?" Y/n retorted as fast as she could, but she was past denying everything. She sighed. "I do. I like Camila freaking Cabello."
Will chuckled lightly. He was relieved. Y/n admitting her feelings was the biggest step, and it had been crossed.
"So. What do I do now?" Y/n looked scared again, like a lost little girl.
She had experience with girls, a lot more than Will actually, but this was uncharted territory to her. She didn't know how to handle feelings.
"It'd probably be best if you talked to her." Will said, careful about his every word. He could feel Y/n's fear and he understood why.
Y/n just didn't want to be hurt. Will had always wondered whether it had anything to do with Y/n's mother, if she was the reason she was so scared of getting hurt again. God knows Y/n had suffered enough for a lifetime. Will was almost sure that was the reason, but he never asked about it. He was there for his friend if she ever did want to talk, but never would he pressure Y/n about that.
"Yeah, I guess I'll have too." Y/n was talking like a prisoner waiting for her death sentence.
"Dude, relax! It'll be fine. Talking isn't that hard." The atmosphere had changed and Will allowed himself to be in a more cheerful mood.
"Not that hard? Have you met her? She's terrifying!" Y/n was being dead serious but Will couldn't help laughing a bit. He really wasn't sure what was so scary about a 5'2 teenage girl but he knew that it was more the power she had over her that Stiles was afraid of.
"Dude, you are Y/n Y/ln and you can do anything!"
"Yeah, I am. But I don't know if I can do that." She emphasized the last word.
"Listen, I'm not supposed to tell you this because Ally made me promise, but I overheard them talking about Camila having a crush on you."
"She does?" Y/n's eyes sparkled with joy at the thought of Camila liking her back. Will smiled at the innocent look on his friend's face. It was so different from the girl he knew and yet it was undeniably Y/n.
