He didn't feel too bad about revealing that secret, he knew that given Y/n's current emotional state, it could only be good.
"Yes. Now, you have to promise me you'll talk to her."

"I promise"

"Today."

"What?! Why? Today is way too soon. I have too emotionally prepare myself." Y/n was whining like a little girl and Will had to stop himself from laughing at her. He didn't want to scare her off.

"No you don't, just do it. Talk." And with that, Will got up, practically lifting his best friend up with him and started walking towards the school building, pulling Y/n forward with him as she pulled on his friend's arm.

"You know I am actually able to walk, right?" Y/n said in her usual sarcastic tone.

"Honestly, I don't trust you to not run."
Y/n rolled her eyes at her friend's distrust but deep down she was grateful because she knew she couldn't do this on her own. They walked in silence, Will smiling in anticipation at his best friend maybe being in an actual romantic relationship, whilst Y/n was mentally rehearsing what she would say to Camila.

The two friends crossed her in the parking lot but she went straight to her car and ignored both of them.

Scott saw Y/n's expression change from fear to sadness.

"Don't worry, she'll forgive you eventually. And I'll be here to support you when you talk to her. We'll meet tomorrow morning in the parking lot. Okay?"

"Yeah, I guess." But Y/n knew she couldn't wait anymore. She had waited for so long, too long.

And now she was ready to face he feelings. The sadness on her features disappeared to be replaced by a new found determination.

She got into her Jeep and drove to her house, imagining ridiculously romantic scenarios that would have made the previous Y/n Y/ln cringe, to give herself courage. Camila and her eating ice cream, Camila and her going to the beach, Camila and her watching movies. Hell, she would even watch The Notebook a thousand times if it was for her.

She realized that she was in front of her house just soon enough to stop her Jeep. She had almost missed it because of how deep in thought she was.

Y/n rang the doorbell several times without a response. She called Camila's cell and heard it ring as if she was very near, on the other side of the door.

"Camila, I know you're here. I can hear your phone."

"I'm very happy you can hear it but that doesn't mean I want to see you." Camila's voice was muffled by the door and it was a bit hard for Y/n to understand her.

"Please let me in. I really need to talk to you." Y/n was starting to get desperate and she felt her determination slipping away more and more every second.

The door burst open to reveal a terrifying, fiery Camila.

"So now you want to talk? Do I need to remind you that you spent all of last week ignoring me? What changed? What made you decide that I was finally worthy of your time?" The girl's words came out of her mouth fast like the cascading turmoil of emotions both teenagers were feeling.

Y/n started to wonder if she could ever find a suitable answer for all her accusations. Taking in a deep breath, she closed her eyes and spoke.

"I like you." When she opened her eyes again, she was met with curiosity and something else that she identified as hope. Camila's anger seemed to have completely vanished and her shyness took over.

"You... you do?"

"I do. And I'm sorry that it took me so long to understand."

Camila smiled at Y/n, but then a sadder thought seemed to enter her mind because that smile disappeared.

"You don't like the real me, Y/n. You don't even know me."

"That's not true."

"Yes it is. We never talk to each other at school and when we do talk it's about math."

"That's besides the point! Yes, at first I only talked to you so you would tutor me, but then I got to know you and I guess I kinda fell for you." Camila blushed.
Seeing this as an encouragement, Y/n continued.

"Yes, you are very beautiful and hot and I won't deny that I'm attracted to you physically, but it's not just that. It's... This whole feeling thing is new to me but I know it's deeper than physical attraction. It's the way you talk and the way you smile and how it makes me happy. The way you furrow your brow when you solve a math equation. The way you occupy my every thought and how I couldn't breathe until I talked to you tonight. The way you're so small but still absolutely terrifying. The way..." Y/n's  talking was cut off by lips on her own.

It wasn't more than a second and then she was gone. Camila looked up at Y/n coyly, smiling at her awestruck expression.

"So... does this mean I'm forgiven?" Y/n's  found her usual confidence again and smirked.
Camila pretended to be in deep thought before she replied. "Almost."

Y/n tried to kiss her again, but the girl moved out of Y/n's embrace and gave her a quick peck on the cheek. Y/n found it infuriating but also really exciting. She always liked a challenge.

"It won't be that easy, Y/ln. See you tomorrow!" She went back inside and closed the door with a light giggle.

Y/n stood there for a while, grinning like an idiot at the idea of being with Camila. She wasn't sure where they stood exactly, but she was pretty sure it was good. She opened the car of her Jeep and drove home, singing to the radio like a lovestruck fool.

Y/n Y/ln had managed to protect her heart during 17 years but a certain brown eyed girl had broken down her walls in a matter of days without even realizing it.
