The human lie detector

I wake up and see my best friend sitting next to me. All I can remember is that I blanked out and saw a shadow which was very close to being Mandy but that's not possible she was down stairs.

Hey, how are you feeling? she asks.

Oh, i am fine. I reply trying to not remember the shadow. What happened to me I ask.

You blanked out. She says.

I look at the bedside table and it is 3:00 pm. I know the is time to go back home so I ask Mandy to take me. I don't feel very well. I say a goodbye to Mandy and she leaves immediately. I go to my room and take a nap.

I am awoken by a loud noise from my alarm clock so I go to my bathroom and do my morning routine. After showering, I wear a long white t-shirt and black skinny jeans. I then make my bed and then walk downstairs to have breakfast. A sweet aroma hits my nose and my mouth starts to water.

Good Morning mom. I say.

Good Morning sweetie how are you feeling? She asks.

I am doing better than yesterday and thanks for asking. I say then continue. How did you know I was sick yesterday? The question leaves my mouth before I can stop myself. She hesitates but then answers.

Mandy called me and told me what had happened. she says but doesn't look me in the eye while saying that.

Oh ok, how is Mandy? I ask being confused by how she is acting.

She was shaken up after what happened to you but I think you should call her and talk to her. She says handing me banana pancakes my favorite. I sit and start eating.

Where is miles? I ask

He is at his friend's house. There was a party yesterday and he went. She says.

I finish my breakfast, drink some water and then go back to my room. I call Mandy and this is how our conversation goes...

Me - hey mandy

Mandy - oh hey, oh my god

Me - what is it

Mandy - you are alive!!!

Me - why wouldn't I be alive?

Mandy - you know what am talking about. You scared me so much.

Me - am sorry but I am alive and that's awesome so let's get on with life.

Mandy - no don't talk like that. What are you going today?

Me - I am not doing anything

Mandy - come over then and help me unpack.

Me - I am on my way.

Mandy Hung's up and I walk to the door. I see my mom sitting watching tv so I ask her to drop me to Mandy's house. She agrees and I get in her car. After fifteen minutes, we get there. It is time for my mom to get shocked. I laugh at her reaction. I tell her good bye and get out of the car. I hurry up the steps and ring the door bell but at my hurry, something trip's me and I go flying to the door. I fall with a loud thump and I hear footsteps coming near. Mandy opens the door and I fall all the way to the floor.

Hey, i say. Trying to be as casual as casual can be when you trip over everything.

You have to be careful these days. So many accidents are happening to you lately. she helps me up while holding the small box. let's get inside she says.

When I get in, every thing is where I remember it being yesterday. we share a hug and then walk to the kitchen.on my way to the kitchen, I notice that Mandy has already made some popcorn and there is some pop on the table.

Did you call me over to watch a movie or to unpack your stuff? i ask smiling

Both. she says

Can you take this box to my room while I finish washing this dishes? mandy asks

yeah sure, but when I get down here I expect you to have finished washing those dishes. I say laughing

yea mom i will. mandy says laughing.

I walk to her room and it is still not unpacked. wow, I never noticed how slow Mandy was in unpacking. I set the box on her nightstand and then a book catches my eyes. it says "don't touch or pick inside - Mandy. This has to be a diary. I get so curious on what is in there so I take the book in my hands.

it says - day 1 - so today I got dropped here in this place called earth. This means I had to leave all my friends and family .oh I already miss them. This is my first mission and I am so excited. I know it is only the first day but I already have so much fun. The mission I was assigned to do is ...

Jami? have you already started unpacking there? I hear Mandy's voice.

I set down the book and I start to go downstairs but I am shaking. What if Mandy is here to hurt me? What if she is an alien? What if she feeds on humans?Is her name even Mandy? all these questions come flooding my brain. In all my thinking I miss a step and fall down the stairs. I stand up and I start to get dizzy. I rush to the couch and sit there. After a minute the dizziness stops but I feel different. What has happened to me? Mandy gets to the living room and I ask.

who are you because you are not Mandy don't lie to me.

what are you talking about she asks? I am mandy you best friend I am not lying to you. she says and I feel her start to panic. why are you lying to me? I can sense that you are lying. Please tell me who you are. I say. i don't know what is happening to me. please help me. she wiggles her hands and I start falling asleep.

hey, you how are you doing? i am so sorry for not updating last week. I have a good explanation tho. school started.
