Chapter 16: One day of rest

"Naruto, lay one more hand on that fish and you lose it!!" Naruto dropped the fish back in the basket in terror as (Y/n)'s hair flowed in the air menacingly. "Good, now give me the fish," she gave sweet smile as Naruto handed her the basket shakingly. "Come on Hina! We can cook together!" (Y/n) latched on to Hinata's arm as they walked to the fire Sasuke made.

"H-How did you get all of this...?!" Hinata looked at the array of spices on the ground. "I have a scroll for everything, Hina!" she waved her bag full of scrolls in the air. "I got one for clothes, one for food, one for spices, hell I even got furniture! Don't ask why I have one for furniture; I have my reasons." Hinata looked at her with a dumbfounded expression. "Let's get cooking!" the Hatake grabbed two spices. For the next hour, the two girls made breakfast for the rookies of Konoha.

"Food's ready!!" (Y/n) yelled down the hall. Soon Naruto ran down the hall as drool dripped from his mouth. His jaw dropped when he got to the room where the two females and the food resided. "How did you make all of this?!?!" Naruto's eyes gleamed. "Oh Hinata made it all, I just helped here and there," (Y/n) winked, or blinked in her case, at the Hyuuga as her eyes widened. "Wow Hinata! The guy you marry would be lucky to have you!" Naruto tightly hugged her. The Hatake internally squealed as she watched Hinata's face redden beyond what most would consider normal. A second later (Y/n) felt an arm wrap around her shoulder. She looked back to see Sasuke's smirking face. "How much did she actually do?" Sasuke asked in a low voice. "Eh, we did half and half," she admitted. "Oh and... where did the table and chairs come from...?" Sasuke pointed at the long dinner table with around 20 chairs. "Like I told Hina-chan earlier, I have a scroll for everything!" the girl smiled at him. "Wow! Look at all the food!!" Choji's voice rang from the doorway. "Dig in everybody!" The two genin watched as the three teams sat down at the table. Naruto and Choji quickly reached out for the food until Sakura and Ino slapped their hands away. "Wait until everybody sits down at the table!" the two girls yelled in unison. "I'll be back!" (Y/n) waved back as she walked out of the room, Sasuke following close behind. From the distance, the two could hear Naruto and Choji groan in annoyment. "DO YOU REALLY HAVE TO LEAVE NOW, DATTEBAYO?!"

"So, where are we going?" Sasuke grabbed the girl's hand. "I'm gonna look for other teams and see if they want to join!" she smiled brightly. Sasuke's eyes softened when she smiled. The girl's right eye caught his gaze. "Does it still hurt?" they stopped as his hand made its way to her cheek. (Y/n) placed her hand over his, "Just a bit, not enough to bother me," she said as she smiled in reassurance. They stared into each other's eyes for a while, not noticing their faces slowly inching together. Their lips close enough that they could graze each other a bit. Sasuke closed his eyes, determined to close the space between them. "Lee, you just can't challenge every strong ninja that crosses your path! Do you want to get killed?!" Tenten's voice got closer and closer. "If you keep going like this, you're not going to be able to pass to the next exams..." Neji sighed. Sasuke and (Y/n)'s gaze darted towards the end of the hallway and saw Tenten and Neji holding Lee up. "L-Lee!!" the Hatake left Sasuke's grasp as she ran towards the injured ninja. "W-What happened?!" she grabbed onto Lee as his team sat him down. "The idiot challenged a team of Kusa genin..." Neji said disappointedly. "Oh, you idiot..." the girl sighed as she took off the top part of Lee's clothes. Sasuke watched with a frown on his face as Lee blushed with (Y/n)'s touch. She began to heal his wounds as Lee's face reddened further. "There... Done." Soon, the green ninja's body was free of wounds. "Come on let's go find other teams," Sasuke looked the other way trying to hide his jealousy. "Oh! That's right! Lee, Neji, Tenten! There is food in the room down the hall. I made breakfast if you want some!" she waved her hand at the three as Sasuke laced his hand with hers, walking opposite of them. "Mine..." Sasuke muttered as he slightly pouted and furrowed his eyebrows while his grip on (Y/n)'s hand tightened a bit. "What was that?" she looked over in confusion. "Nothing..."
