Total Eclipse

"Shego! Quickly, get up!" A blue skinned mad scientist stood at the bottom of some chrome stairs, calling up them, to a green skinned woman, who served as his assistant. (Don't ask about the chrome, it's a villain thing)

A slender, dark haired woman groaned, and rolled over, so her face was in her pillow. "Shego!"

"Leeme 'lone." She replied, grumpily, into her green  pillowcase.

"What was that?"

She turned so her face was no longer covered, and shouted towards the door. She disliked shouting in the morning, it woke her up further, when she wanted to sleep. "I said, leave me alone!"

"Shego, please get up!" He started to whine, as he walked up the steps.

She groaned again, and flopped on her green sheets, as Drakken knocked once, and opened the door a crack. She pulled her cozy dark green comforter over her black hair, to keep the light from the lair out.

"Shego, I don't want to deal with your 'not wanting to wake up early lecture' at the moment, so can you wake up?"

Silence.

He tugged lightly on the blanket, which she whipped off. "What do you want?!" She glanced at the alarm clock by her bed, which only fueled her anger. "It's one AM?!" Drakken stepped backwards. "You have five seconds to explain why you woke me up, at such an ungodly hour."

Drakken nervously started to wring his gloved hands, and avoided eye contact, because he knew the look she was most likely giving him, would have killed the scientist. "Um... Well you see, I can't really tell you..."

"If you couldn't tell me, then why'd ya' wake me up?!"

"Because- if I don't want to tell you, I don't have to!"

"Well, then why do you need me? You can't just wake me up this early for no reason, you know."

"Well, I need to go to Oregon, for a special even that's occurring, for my next possible scheme. We have to be there when it starts to get light out, and I want you with me."

"Why?"

"Do I not pay you to accompany me on these schemes?"

"Ugh, well, at least let me change."

Drakken glanced at her. "Alright, fine. But hurry up!"

As he exited through the door, Shego got out of the comfy bed reluctantly, to grab a green and black suit, which hugged her curves. As soon as she finished zipping it up, a knock came at the door. "Come in." She grumbled, still not happy to wake up at this hour, for some road trip.

Drakken opened the door, but did not enter. "Ready?"

"Almost, let me rush my hair."

He quickly glanced at her. "You look beautiful, just come on!"

Shego followed, but only because she was stunned at being complimented by the usually one track mined Doctor.

------------------------------------------------------

They both clambered into the hovercraft, and Drakken started it up. "Traffic will be crazy when we get there, for the event. Best to fly above all of it." He stated, even though nobody said anything of the use of the hovercraft, and not the car.  They flew over Middleton, and Upperton, and kept going to Oregon. (Wherever direction THAT was.)

Once they reached Oregon, they passed many different kinds of people, cyclists, ("annoying spandex wearing idiots" Drakken had commented) People walking their many breeds of dogs, a circus juggler, a clown, (Drakken had sped up past HIM) and a jogging, naked man with a cowboy hat. (Shego, fortunately, had been looking the other way at somebody carrying a cage of parrots. (Many different people want to see the eclipse, but I doubt I'll see any of these types of people when I see it! Well, I'll see the cyclists anyway...)

Drakken veered away from all of civilization for a few minutes, and finally parked the hovercraft at the bottom of a hill, where there was no person in sight for miles.

"Ugh, we have to WALK?" Shego groaned, exasperated.

"Yes, if I had parked the hovercraft up there, it would have slid down the hill, and most likely, have crashed into a tree."

-----------------------------------

"Did we really, have to bring all of this stuff?" Shego was carrying a bag with a telescope, and other astronomy supplies. Whereas, Drakken, was carrying a blanket.

"Shego, I need this stuff for viewing this spectacular event!"

"It's killing my back." She grumbled.

"Fine!" He huffed, and took the bag from her. "I'll carry it." He said, slinging the bag over his shoulder. Shego was sure that he would start complaining, but to her surprise, didn't.

"You keep saying, 'the event', what 'event' are you talking about?" As soon as she asked, they reached the top, and mostly darkness shrouded them, and the hill. "Woah" a ring of sun had appeared from behind the moon, which was covering it.

A Solar Eclispe.

------------------------------

Shego payed down the blanket, while Drakken set up the telescope, and looked through it. "Come, Shego. Look through the scope." He lightly pressed her back with his hand, towards the telescope, and she looked through, closing one, green lidded eye, to get a better view.

She gasped. "It's- so- pretty!" Drakken took two pairs of solar viewing sunglasses from the pack, and handed one to Shego. They both looked up at the sky for what seemed like hours. Tiredness overtook her, and she started to lean on the mad scientist, with her eyes slowly drifting closed. Drakken started to slowly grow tired as well, and fell asleep on the blanket, with Shego curled up in front of him.

He put one arm around her in his slumber, holding her close, while she turned towards him, nuzzling into his chest. Both were asleep under the daylight stars, and the eclipse on a blanket, cuddled close. Warm, and cozy they both slept peacefully.

(At least until Shego woke up)
