a feeling of pity settled in his veins the rest of the day after nymphadora had stopped by, remus slamming the door in her face and acting like a unsympathetic asshole who showed no care towards her genuine apology. it was also rude of him to mess around with sirius' feelings like that, but he didn't seem to really care afterwards when he got a hard, agonizing slap to the cheek by his roommate. as remus continued sitting in silence, a sweet pastry in hand, he began thinking back on his decisions, munching on the palmier.
suddenly, sirius entered the small living room, yawning from the long nap he just woke up from, raven hair messy and hooded eyes. almost as if he had forgotten everything, sirius lazily waved to remus who cocked a brow with a confused expression plastered on his face, slowly waving back to the sleepy beaut. his eyes followed the older male's figure to the kitchen where he disappeared when the refrigerator door swung open, covering him. "we have nothing to eat!" sirius abruptly exclaimed, shutting the door and waddling to the bathroom.
"then let's go get some takeout, or something." remus replied loud enough for his roommate to hear, finising his palmier and getting up from the sofa. he approached the open bathroom door to find sirius already combing his hair for the fifth time the same day, checking himself out afterwards with a cocky smirk. "hurry up prince charming, i'm hungry as well."
"you complimented me!" sirius sang with an endearing grin, teasingly patting the taller male's head, making remus scoff and roll his eyes as he walked away to hide the rosy-tint that spread across his soft cheeks. sometimes remus wondered if it was sirius' job to constantly make him feel so flustered and bashful, he was so flawless at that job and never failed once. despite this, the daily compliments made the red-head feel a little better about himself, liking that he was appreciated by someone besides his family. "let's get goin', babe."
once again, remus felt his cheeks heat up like the bright summer sun, harshly swatting sirius' hand that slithered around his shoulder like a sneaky snake. " don't call me that."
"jeez, i'm stuffed." sirius sighed, patting his firm belly, holding back a burp so he didn't seem like a pig in front of his crush. in agreement, remus nodded his head and jumped up in shock when he felt sirius' fingers intertwine with his. at first, remus had ignored it because it just made him feel so embarrassed, but he slowly then just settled down and gently tightened his grip around his roommate's hand. "ah, finally, you're opening up to me."
biting his lower lip, remus averted his gaze anywhere but at the shorter male next to him who was not afraid to show off how proud he was to be holding hands with a true masterpiece. it was this time, only this time, that remus would allow his roommate to be as romantic as he could. he did not have to say that twice, cause once he did, sirius stuck to the dirty-blonde like glue.
as they continued walking, hand in hand, body being kissed by the setting peachy sun, they felt at peace for once. something felt awfully strange though, it was an abrupt, scary feeling that remus had felt before, but this time it felt more genuine. his heart was beating at such an inhumane pace that it made remus panic a little, but how could be panic when a literal angel was standing near him?
"your hands are getting sweaty." the raven-haired pointed out, both of their eyes darting over to remus' much larger and veiny hand that was sweating from how out-of-place he felt. "you're so cute when you're all bashful and stuff."
"shut up." remus murmured.
