This story centers on a very serious topic. I do not condone the use of illegal substances, though they may at times be glamorized at points in my writing. The views expressed are the views of a character I've created, not my own personal views.

I have a history with psychedelics. I have experienced firsthand some of the dangers that accompany hard drugs, and I don't want anyone to suffer as I have, especially because of something I wrote. Some of you might be reading this because you're interested in psychedelics or other substances. And, hey, that's fine! It's natural to be curious. All I ask is that you do your research before trying any substance, whether it be meth, psilocybin, or even just marijuana. There are a few harm reduction YouTube channels available for quick info (I recommend PsychedSubstance; stay the fuck away from Drugslab). My inbox is always open as well. I don't feel it's necessary to recount every detail of my trauma in this author's note, but if you want to hear my story, we can have a private conversation— especially if you're dead set on trying a substance for the first time. Another important thing: if you are someone who requires trigger warnings for anything at all, please message me before you read and I'll let you know whether you have anything to worry about. I don't like putting specific warnings on the story itself because it detracts from the mystery for other readers (the drug use warning is a different case considering it's introduced in Chapter 1). I'll do my best to respond quickly to any messages, assuming 抖阴社区 doesn't screw up on notifying me.

I also wanted to add that my use of these characters is borne mainly out of nostalgia. There are a few reasons that I feel I need to comment on this—one being Mike Fuentes' sexual offenses being brought to light. About five years ago, I was in the Pierce the Veil fandom and regularly read/wrote fanfiction about the band members. Some of my best memories are of when I would spend all day scribbling new chapters for The Scene. I've sort of been chasing that feeling by using Mike and Tony as my main characters in this story, but I don't intend for there to be any connection between my characters and the real people.

(09/07/17 - The story isn't ready for an update schedule yet, but I am actually writing it after a bit of a hiatus. I'm at about 20k words right now. Unfortunately, I don't have an estimate for when it'll be completed. Hopefully by the end of the year I can start posting new chapters. Thanks to everyone who has stuck around this long.)

(06/01/18 - So I kinda had to rework the entire plot because of a few glaring plot holes. I have about four and a half chapters written, which is exactly where I was in September. Oops.)
