A/N Before I start this chapter, I just want to say that you all should go read Glowing Eyes || Adopted by Josh Dun by _its_questionable_. It's an amazing story and very well written, you should check it out.

The song is Waiting For You by Unlike Pluto. And thanks to Rob (MrWoofless) for using this song in his timelapse thing, because I really like this song. Anyways, enjoy the chapter!

The car was silent, except for the light patter of rain drops on the windows. Neither of us knew what to say. I was slightly beginning to regret telling them. I was trying to gather my thoughts and get the courage to say something when Tyler spoke up. "When did you get out?" He asked. I looked at him, confused. "From the hospital." He said. "Oh," I said. "About two or three days before you and Jenna came to the orphanage." I said quietly. "And we didn't even know for that long." He said, more to himself. I wanted tell him that I'm sorry, I wanted to scream it. I wanted to make things better, to make things right. But I couldn't, and that was tearing me apart.

I knew what question he had on his mind. Why? Why would I have done something like that? I didn't know how to answer that, to be honest. At least, not in at short way. I looked out the window and watched the rain drops racing down. I looked at the sky, seeing the dark, stormy clouds above, not letting the sun shine. I felt like the clouds. I was dark and stormy, and I was in the way of everyone's happiness. But I also felt like the sun, sitting behind the dark clouds of depression, just wanting to shine through. But the clouds don't go away after it rains, the clouds always stay around.

I looked ahead and noticed we were a small town area, which I recognized as downtown Gahanna. I'd never been to any of the stores or restaurants, just the library and Creekside. When I was younger, my mom would take us to creekside so we could play in the water. But that was a long, long time ago. Tyler pulled into a parking lot. I looked around and saw we were at an ice cream shop. He turned and looked at me. "I think you deserve some ice cream." He said with a comforting smile.

We got out of the car and headed inside. It was a school/work day, so there weren't many people inside. There was one couple in front of us, so that gave me time to figure out what I wanted. "I can order for you if you want." Tyler said to me. I nodded and thanked him. "What do you want?" He asked me as the couple walked away with their ice cream. "A small vanilla milkshake please." I said. He nodded and stepped forward. "Welcome to Cold Stone Creamery, what can I get you today?" The cashier asked. She was a short girl who looked about 18-19 years old. She had dark skin and hazel curly hair. "Two large vanilla shakes please." Tyler said, looking back at me with a smirk when he said large. I sighed. "That will be $11.25." She said (I don't know the exact price, but they're fricking expensive!). Tyler took out his wallet and handed her the money. The lady put the money into the cash register and walked away, helping the other person she was working with to make the shakes. Tyler turned around to me and I glared at him. "What?" He said with a small smile. "You know what. I asked for a small and you ordered a large." I mumbled. He just looked innocently up at the ceiling. "I don't know what you're talking about." He said. I rolled my eyes, but smiled. The lady came back with our shakes. We grabbed them and headed back out to the car.

Once we got in we both slightly sighed. I knew we would have to talk now, which I was dreading. Tyler closed his eyes and sighed again. "Why didn't you tell us sooner?" He softly asked. I looked down at my feet. "I guess I was trying to forget it? I don't know." I said, but I don't think that was the answer he was looking for. I sighed, again (They sigh a lot, I don't know if you guys have noticed that, I should probably stop using that so much). "I guess I didn't want you guys to know. I thought that it might change things, or that you guys would be disappointed or ashamed. Or even that you might get rid of me. I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner." I said, tears sliding down my face towards the end of it. Tyler had tears in his eyes. We reached over and pulled me into a hug. "We would never get rid of you, okay? And we aren't ashamed, we just wish you would've told us. We care about you and want to see you happy, okay?" He said while rubbing my back. I nodded. We stayed like that for a little longer before Tyler pulled away. He smiled a little bit at me, I could see the sadness in his smile. "I'm glad you're here." He said, which caused a few more tears to come out.

We talked a bit longer before Tyler started the car and we made our way back home. I was still hurting from earlier at school, but I tried not to show it. 'I should probably tell them about the things going on at school.' I thought. 'Maybe another day, they don't want to hear that right now'. Tyler pulled into the driveway and looked out the window. "Are you ready to go inside?" He asked. I shrugged. "I guess." I said. He smiled a bit. "Are you ready to run through the rain?" He asked. I smiled a bit too. "Definitely." I said. We grabbed our milkshakes before opening the doors and bolting across the lawn. The rain was freezing cold, but I liked it. We made it to the porch and laughed a little. I'm glad that, even though it's kind of a serious day, that we can still have moments like this. "Oh crap." I said. Tyler looked at me. "What?" He asked. "We are soaking wet. If we get the floor wet, Jenna is not going to be happy." I said. He bit his lip, thinking about it. He shrugged. "What else can we do." He said before opening the door and walking inside. I sighed before following him. "Jenna! Could you get a couple towels please!" Tyler called out. Jenna came down the stairs. "Why do you nee-" She started before seeing us. She smiled and started laughing a bit. She quickly went back upstairs to get some towels. She came back down and walked over to us, handing each of us a towel. "I didn't think it was raining that much." She said, still smiling. "We didn't think so either." I said. "Speak for yourself, I obviously knew how hard it was raining." He jokingly said. "Mhm, sure." I said. He rolled his eyes and threw his towel on me. I quickly took it off and glared at him. He just smiled. I sighed. "If it's alright, I'm gonna go take a shower." I said. "Alright, I'll put your clothes in the wash." Jenna said. I thanked her and told Tyler to give the rest of my milkshake to Josh before going upstairs and grabbing dry clothes. I went into the bathroom and stripped before stepping in the shower, the hot water warming my body from the previous encounters with freezing rain.

A/N Hello! I kind of liked this chapter, and I tried to make it a bit happier despite the serious/sad topics. I hope you all enjoyed it, because that's the main thing that matters. Hopefully school is going well for you all, and if not I hope it get's better. Anyways, I'll hopefully see you guys on Friday, bye!
