12 years later

ever since lili realized she had feelings for her best friend, she bolted. she ran far away, and was now living in california, working at a lowly construction sight. lili never really found anybody, and she didn't really want to stay in contact with the married woman she loved, or her husband, or the friends that just reminded them of what she could've had...

she hated herself, and was unhappy. she didn't really land on her feet, and wasn't living out her dream. she saw how successful rosanna, elise, and the boys were. and she? she was just stuck here.

lili walked downtown to a coffee shop, and stood in line. when she stepped up, she remembered the barista from somewhere, but she just couldn't remember where.

and then she realized, this was elise's ex lover, the photos she saw, the one time she saw him in person, this was oliver.

"oliver?" lili croaked, and he arched an eyebrow, then looked down at his nametag, realized that it was fine she knew his name, and then smiled.

"hello, how are you today?" he smiled, but lili was still in shock.

"elise." lili uttered, and oliver immediately froze, and then a shock wave of sadness struck through her, and for the first time in a while, she realized how much she missed everybody. so, she ran out of the store, and took her phone out, and dialed kimberly's number, which she had saved all these years. after two rings, it picked up.

"hello?" kimberly asked.

"kimberly!" lili roared with glee. for the first time in twelve years, she was talking to her best friend. in love with her or not, it was still a happy day.

"LILI. WHAT THE FUCK! 12 YEARS? 12 FUCKINS YEARS? --"

"i missed you too, bud."

i kind of had nothing else to do with lili's character, so i gave her an unhappy ending (ish) but she just didn't end up with kimberly. but, at least they ended up talking. and yes, i will confirm, they become best friends again after this, although it's never the same. does lili end up with someone? idk tbh. you can decide that :)
