Meant To Be ? Reddie

- Eddie's POV -

The horrible school day had eventually came to an end, and I was beyond grateful.

I headed home to greet my mother and apologize for how I had been acting lately.

Although we didn't have the best relationship, I still loved her and felt as though she deserved my respect.

As I was walking through the neighborhood, I thought about all of the events that had taken place over these past few days.

My life had drastically changed.

As I slowly ascended into adulthood, I became more independent and consistent with whatever I wanted or desired.

I was becoming braver with each passing day, especially with Richie by my side to encourage me and support me.

Anytime I thought about him, I felt an irresistible urge to meet up with him, to call his phone, to do anything that involved us interacting.

I sighed longingly as I continued to think about Richie, and I felt my stomach churn with anticipation for whenever I would see my best friend again.

I opened the door to my home and stepped inside, seeing my mother relaxing in her chair, watching television as usual.

"Hello sweetheart." She murmured weakly, easing her way out of the recliner and maneuvering through the hallway towards me. "How are you?"

"I'm alright mom. I'm sorry for how I acted... I truly am." I apologized sincerely, a guilty frown falling over my face as she pulled me into a hug, planting a kiss against my temple.

"Mommy loves you, Edward Kaspbrak." She whispered to me, tightening her arms around me. "No matter what."

I exhaled calmly as I leaned into her motherly embrace. "I love you too."

- Richie's POV -

"I'm gay."

Stan's jaw dropped halfway at my sudden confession, yet he still appeared to be unconvinced. "You're gay? But you always talk about girls."

We were sitting on the carperted flooring in my bedroom, sharing a bowl of popcorn and a bottle of my parents stolen gin while we watched a marathon that consisted of badly produced horror movies.

My parents were going to be out of town, I wasn't sure how long it would last, but I decided to invite Stan and the rest of our friends over since I had nothing else to do and had the house all to myself. 

I had already called Eddie, who was supposedly in trouble and his mother wouldn't let him leave.

I wasn't surprised.

I had been planning on confiding about my sexuality and relationship with someone, and Stan just happened to be my pick since he was the first of our friends that had shown up at my house.

"I was trying to hide that I wanted to have hot sex with Eddie." I admitted, my lips curling into a devious smile as I reminisced on our intimate moments. "But seriously, I think I'm in love with Eds."

"I could have lived my entire life without knowing that." Stan grumbled out impatiently whilst making a disgusted facial expression. "I don't need anymore details, okay?"
