Luke
"Luke!" Michael screamed from across the apartment.
"What Michael?" It was a normal Tuesday morning and I already knew Michael was going to ask me to buy him coffee because he was too lazy to leave his room.
"Can you buy me coffee? Pretty please with a cherry on top," Michael said popping the p and trying to pout.
"Yeah, yeah, just put that ugly look away. Why don't we just save money and buy a coffee machine?"
"There's no fun in getting a coffee machine. In a coffee shop you can meet cute girls," Michael winks.
I honestly am fine by myself but Michael and the rest of our friends are persistent on getting me a date.
"Hey, Calum told me about this new coffee shop that's close to us and much cheaper than Starbucks. It could save us some money, I think it's called Urban Cafe."
"Alright, I'll go check it out," I say as I grab my coat and rush into the freezing weather.
❥
I stand in front of the cafe and it lives up to its name. It's very urban looking, you could say. I walk in and the strong smell of coffee hits me. I see that there is a bookworm and an older couple here. I head to the cash register but nobody is there.
"Talk about bad service," I mutter, "Helloo, I'm here to order." A girl with brown hair, tied in a ponytail comes out of the 'Employees Only' door.
"Hi, I'm sorry, I was looking for something" She was cute but kept rambling about something I could care less about. All I wanted was to get the coffees and leave.
"Sir," she said pulling me out of my thoughts, "Sorry for rambling, now what would you like to order?"
"Uh let me get two medium black coffees," I said while getting my wallet out my back pocket. When I looked back up at her, the girl was staring at me in a creepy way. I squint and look at her name tag, it read Ellie.
"Hey Ellie, Take a picture, it'll last longer," I say with a smirk. Her cheeks turned pink, I thought it was kind of funny.
"Oh yes sorry, that'll be six dollars." I hand her the money and she gets to work.
She holds the two coffees in her hand but before I could grab it she asks me a stupid question.
"I don't mean to be weird, but how do you know my name?" she asks looking at me as though I'm her stalker.
"Your name tag," I chuckle and she blushes again.
"Oh, that's where it went. I've been looking for you," she whispers and I roll my eyes, so that's what she was rambling about earlier. She hands me the coffees and I'm halfway through the door before she yells out,
"Wait, since you know my name, I should know yours." This girl is too determined and I want to leave already so I just say the next word that pops into my head.
"Michael."
