"Oh," she looked down at the floor. "It's kind of embarrassing to say."

"Tell me," I looked her in the eye. "I want to know."

She breathed deeply before brushing back her hair and finally speaking.

"The fans want me to be really thin. I packed on some chub one time, and a lot of people got really mad," she forced a laugh. "So I've been eating a lot less lately."

"Don't you think you should stay proportional to your height?"

"Sorry?" She gave me a confused look.

"I mean, if you weigh just as much as Chaeyoung when she's ten centimetres smaller than you, don't you think you should keep the same ratio? I think you'd look cute."

She looked away from me, and I could see her ears start to redden.

"No one's said that to me before."

"Said what? That you're cute?"

"No, that I should eat more," she faced me.

"Then more people should start telling you that. Don't let other people decide who you want to be. You're a strong, tall girl."

"That's another thing I don't like."

"What? Being tall?"

"Yeah."

"Why?" I asked, despite knowing the reason already.

"I have to bend my knees all the time to keep a linear formation, and they ache so much afterwards. I also hear people saying I'm not preferable since I'm so tall."

"That's stupid," I said with a whiney voice.

"Why so?"

"I think you're preferable. You being tall is part of what makes you... well, you."

"You sound so cliche, I'm starting to think you've fallen for me," she laughed.

"If that's what's true, I'll be as cliche as I need to be."

Her face began to redden once more after my reply.

"You're a very kind person," she smiled.

"Nah, I'm just honest."

"But you are kind. That's rare nowadays."

"If you say so."

"Your parents must be very proud of you."

I immediately went silent after she said that. My parents were never those kind of parents. Bad memories flooded my mind, tearing my heart apart.

"Y/n?" She called my name. "What's wrong?"

At this point she stood up and sat next to me, placing her hand on my shoulder.

"My parent's aren't really a topic I like to think about," I forced a smile.

We sat in silence for around a minute.

"Do you want to talk about it?" She asked, looking me directly in the eye, her dark brown eyes almost completely black.

"I'd rather not."

"Oh," she nodded. "I understand."

"But~" I dragged my voice on. "Since you told me about yourself, I'll make us even."

"Okay!" she smiled.

"Ever since I was young," I began, despite how much it hurt. "My parents were never there for me. My dad was an alcoholic, blaming me for the smallest things. My mom was always working abroad, and I hardly got word from her. Eventually, I got so sick of crying myself to sleep every night that I moved to my uncle's place, where I started to fall in love with languages. Then I just kept moving and moving, 'til I ended up here."
