Upgrade (Michael Mell x Reader)

Y/N stood up in front of the class, she took a deep breath. She was in English and for homework, they had to write about mental Illnesses. It may not be visible to the eye, but Y/N was battling Clinical Depression.

"Depression is like a flower." She said, "If left uncovered for it will slowly die and fade. Depression is like a flower. Once they are left and ignored they forget their will to live. But once that one person notices them, they begin to glow once again." Depression is not sadness, it's the imcapiblity to live. To feel."

Y/N hurried to her seat, listening to the applaud of the class. Other students went up and presented.

The bell rang and Y/N quickly gathered her belongings. She rushed out the door, English was her last class today. Christmas Break was finally here!

She catches up to Michael and Jeremy.  Jeremy looked around anxiously, probably looking for Rich. Michael was playing some game on his phone.

Christine came around the corner as we walked down the crowded hallway and froze when she noticed Jeremy.

Christine was cheated on and rejected this past week. Jake cheated on her with the new student that came, and Jeremy rejected her since he loved Rich.

After that, Christine's usually happy attitude left and she was now the meanest person Y/N has spoken to. She catches an attitude at the smallest things.

She even left the Frozen Musical and now they have to find a new Anna. It was a few days until the show and it would have to be cancelled because of Christine's selfishness.

Jeremy finally found Rich and hurried over to him. Leaving me with Michael. I thought he was ignoring me, but suddenly he turned to me. "I have two statements." He told me, directly. "I like you a lot, you may not like me and led me on but I like you. Also, I want to know the story on what happened to your arm."

Y/N froze. Could she give him the truth or the one she told her parents? She had already told Henry and he threatened to tell everyone.

That would get her into trouble. Big trouble.

FLASHBACK

Y/N watched her dad and mom argue, constant pushing and breaking things in the house.

She was tired of all the fighting, she would have to listen to it all the time.

She even had to work so that she can replace the things in the house. She was also homeschooled so she never got to leave the house.

Y/N decided that she was tired of this. She had no friends and her parents didn't seem to care for her.

She grabbed the ladder and put it up to the roof. She sighed and climbed the ladder all the way at the top. She then balanced her on the roof and took a deep breath. She jumped, curling into a ball the last minute.

She crashed on her arm. Her arm had gone numb but the rest of her body was in pain. Suddenly the ladder lost It's balance and begun to tilt her way. It started to Fall and she rolled out of the way. It crashed but missed her. She began to sob violently but quietly. She still heard the banging and yelling.

We laid there for about a half hour and her father had come out. He noticed her there, a suitcase in his hand. And he walked away. She then saw her mom come out, angry, and she ran over to Y/N sobbing once she realized the situation. She carried Y/N into her car, and started the car.

Y/N watched as her father drove away and her mother stick out the middle finger to him.

When they arrived at the hospital they told her that broke her arm. Her mom questioned how it happened and he told them that the ladder fell on her when she tried putting it up.

They put a cast on her arm and mom decided to send her to school. Dad was gone but Y/N was told that he started to create these SHIP's illegally but she never told on him. No one would believe her anyways.

END OF FLASHBACK

Michael stared at her, wide eyed when she told him. He stuttered, "Y-You can get into trouble if they know that you know who makes them!"

Y/N, she should have known that only her mom cared that she almost died. Even her closest friend only cared about the illegal part.

She didn't even let him continue, instead she ran away. She ran all the way home, hoping the wind would drift her problems away.
