I had sat on the bench with Klaus continuing to talk to him, completely forgetting about what he had done to me in the past. Something that I hadn't been able to do for so long. And he had kept that silly grin slapped onto his face when suddenly, he began to clutch his heart.

"Klaus, what's wrong?" I asked him.

"What did you do?" He asked me with a pained expression.

"What? I didn't do anything? Klaus, what is going on?" I asked him worriedly. He took my hands in his and began to clutch tightly.

"Just tell me what you did. I won't be angry, I just need to know." He told me with a sad look.

"Klaus, I didn't do anything to you! Just tell me what is going on!" I continued.

"Kol. Something's wrong." Klaus murmured. It was then that I remembered the car that nearly hit me today.

"Damon." At the sound of this he got up and dashed away, and I ran following him into an alleyway, where Alaric, Stefan and Damon were, with Klaus' younger brother daggered.

"You idiots!" I yelled as Klaus threw Alaric into the wall and pulled the dagger out of his brother.

"I should have killed you months ago." Klaus growled at the two brothers. Stefan lunged for him, but Klaus knocked him out with one punch.

"Do it now." Damon sneered. "I'll see you in hell after Esther kills you."

"What?" Klaus asked him in confusion.

"You didn't know." I said sadly. "Klaus, Esther is trying to kill you and your siblings."

"Yeah." Damon taunted. "She hates you as much as I do." Klaus went in for the attack but Elijah appeared and stopped him.

"Leave him be, Niklaus." Elijah commanded. "We still need them."

"Tell me it isn't true." Klaus asked him but Elijah merely walked down the steps and brought his phone up to Damon's face.

"Tell me where the witches are or I'll have my sister kill Elena right now." Elijah told him.

"Are you really gonna let him kill your sister?" Damon asked me in disbelief.

"Says the person who tried to run me over 30 minutes ago!" I shot back.

"I'll kill you." Both Klaus and Elijah growled in unison.

"If Elena had told me the truth in the first place then this whole thing could have been avoided." I said, but it still hurt, I couldn't look him in the eye as I said that. She was still my sister, no matter how much she annoyed me.

"Fine. But you said we had until after nine." Damon said in resignation, turning his attention back to Elijah.

"I doubt she'd mind starting earlier."

"Okay, so we'll drop Iliana at home and then we'll make our way over to Esther and end this once and for all." Klaus said as I sat in the car with him and his brothers.

"No, I'm coming with you." I told him firmly.

"You will do no such thing." Klaus retorted. "Esther will kill you."

"The same goes for you." I said with a shrug.

"I'm a vampire."

"I'm a doppelganger."

"And Kol is a tool, one of these things does not fit with the other." Klaus continued. "Two out of those three things can die and come back to life."

"Funny because I strongly remember dying and coming back to life." I said with a smirk.

"Go on girlie! Tear 'im a new one! I like her!" Kol said with a laugh.

"I'm coming, Klaus."

"Over my dead body."

"That can be arranged."

"Doesn't matter, we're here." Elijah said, shooting me a warm smile. We got out of the car and met with a beautiful dark-skinned woman who Kol kissed on the cheek.

"What took you sods so long?" She asked them.

"Klaus was fighting with his and Elijah's girlfriend." Kol told her.

"Did you say Klaus and Elijah's girlfriend?" She said in shock.

"I know!" Kol said with a hearty laugh. "I can't even decide who I favour more."

"Gimme dets!" She pressed.

"Time and a place!" Elijah snapped. "Now, we finish this."

The five of us walked to where Esther stood with an older man in the middle of a pentagram. It was still crazy to think that a year ago I thought this only happened on TV. This was definitely more realistic.

"My children, come forward." Esther had said.

"Stay beside me, mother."

"It's okay, Finn. They can't enter." Kol went forward but the pentagram lit up in flames.

"That's lovely. We're stuck out here, while the favourite son plays sacrificial lamb." Kol grumbled.

"How pathetic Finn." The girl had added.

"Be quiet Kol! And you too Fiore." Esther snapped. "Your brother knows virtue you cannot even imagine."

"Esther, it doesn't matter how you feel about them, but killing your own children would be the biggest mistake of your life." I told her.

"No, the mistake was not letting them die a thousand years ago." Esther told me.

"Enough!" Klaus yelled, pushing me behind him. "Talk is boring. End this mother, or I'll send you back to hell once again."

"For a thousand years, I've been forced to watch you. Felt the pain of every victim, suffered while you shed blood. Even you, Elijah, with your claim to nobility, you're no better. All of you. You're a curse on this Earth. Stretched out over generations. If you've come to plead for your life, I'm sorry, you've wasted your time." Esther said in disappointment.

"They're your children." I said as I moved towards the pentagram.

"Iliana, stay away from her!" Klaus called out.

"Esther, I lost my adoptive parents, because they chose to save my sister. My biological father then died to save me."

"FROM MY SON!" She yelled back. "Don't you see? If not for Klaus, then your father would still be with you."

"Klaus saved my life, the first day I met him. And Stefan wouldn't have been able to save my sister if not for you creating vampires in the first place." I told her. "You can't discount all the good they've done for all the bad. Think of all the people that are grateful for what you did!"

"It was good of you to try and speak on their behalf. But my children will die today, whether or not it suits you. I suppose I owe you my gratitude."

"What?" I asked her in confusion, but she could sense something was wrong.

"No! Sisters! Do not abandon me!" She cried out. The pentagram torches flared up and I was thrown backwards, but Elijah covered me from the worst of it. When the flames died out, Finn and Esther had gone, but someone was dead.

"Bonnie!" I ran into the house and there Bonnie lay on the floor, crying over her mother's dead body.

"No, no, no, no! Bonnie! No!" I pulled her into a hug and let her sob into my shoulder.
