perfection; pyrocynical (niall comas)

june sat there, picking at the strings of her sweatshirt as she chewed on her lip. alex went out to find niall about an hour ago. she rested her head on jake's shoulder, who wrapped his arm around her. she closed her eyes.

"do you think he's okay?" she asked him, breaking the silence that's been ringing throughout the room. jake nodded.

"i think he's fine physically, yeah." he replied, not making the brunette feel any better. she  simply sighed, nodding and burying her face into jake's chest. he held onto her tight, trying to calm her down.

her head was in a war.

she wanted to leave jake, and go find niall, and hug him and tell him how amazing he actually was, and another part wanted this comfort from jake.

"i should— i should probably go find them, go apologize." she mumbled. "how about—" she began. "we reschedule that dinner for a future date."

jake nodded. "yeah, that's fine." he smiled a bit. "go find them." his voice was understanding. she shot him a thankful smile as she ran out through the front door.

the two boys didn't get far, and she could see them in the far distance. she walked, trying to figure out what to say. she caught her lip in her teeth, running a hand through her hair.

"damnnn, baby, lookin' fine." she heard someone call from behind her. she turned around, her eyebrows furrowed. "don't call me that." she said boldly.

"don't pretend like you don't love it." the man was tall, with dark brown hair. she recognized him as the man at the bar, when he tried to drug her. her eyes widened as she began walking away faster, hearing a laugh from behind her and him walking away. she was so distracted by that situation, that she completely fell over her own two feet, scraping her elbows as she was quick to get up, looking around.

niall and alex weren't far now, very close actually. she approached them slowly, and alex saw her first.

"niall." the boy mumbled, and then the blonde turned to see june's eyes.

june went to speak, and it took a moment for anything to come out.

"i'm sorry, for... whatever i did." she said, her voice dripping with guilt as she looked up at him, the stinging of her elbows and the shame that she made niall upset making tears spring to her eyes.

"i— it's nothing." niall shook his head. "you're okay, i promise." he stood, and june immediately wrapped her arms around him tightly into a hug, which he returned.

alex cleared his throat from behind the two. "alright, let's get back, lovebirds." he rolled his eyes. she felt her heart sink, as she realized she told jake she'd still go on that date with him, yet here alex was calling them lovebirds.

the three of them walked back, june thinking about her situation that she so naively put herself in.

they got back, june going into her room, listening to whatever the guys were saying on the outside.

"dude, i totally got her. you're gonna owe me big money after we go out. yeah, he was so pissed. walked out and everything." it was jake, on the phone.

"i'm gonna get more than you, i swear. i can get bitches." jake laughed.

"alright, see you later." he hung up on whoever he was on the phone with. she furrowed her eyebrows.

it all clicked, and then june was raging with anger.

he was talking about her agreeing to go out with him. she ran her fingers through her hair, her face shocked as she froze, and then got up with one quick movement, making her way to niall's room. she knocked, before opening.

niall was sitting in front of his camera, recording a video. he stopped it, looking at her. "hello there." he said. she didn't say a word, just went to hug him again, needing to feel the comfort of the other.

"are you okay?" he asked, and she didn't answer, just staying close to him and burying her face into his chest.

he didn't say anything else, simply hugged her back for as long as she needed.

"thank you, for always being here for me whenever i need it. i feel terrible that i'm not doing the same." june muttered, pulling away slightly and looking up at him.

"it's no problem, june. i'll always be here." niall affirmed. they both smiled.

they really needed each other.
