the teacher who was patrolling by, tapped on the locker next to them to tell them that they were almost going out of the boundary. "no sucking of faces, yaemin," the teacher sighed, shaking his head while walking away.

nari stared at them. yaemin pulled away and rolled her eyes. as if on cue, lucas's eyes met nari's, she immediately looked away. nari felt stupid in the end. because it was practically one of lucas's tricks — make it seem like as if he likes you and then sucks his girlfriend's face the next minute.

nari was one of lucas's victims. she just fell into the trap. she always defended him whenever someone talked shit about him, saying that he's just a stuck up jerk and a player who doesnt know how to cherish the feelings of others. nari always did. but all that was for nothing.

apparently to nari, lucas is a player and will forever stay as one. he will never change. a stuck up jerk who likes to play with other's feelings. he never knew how to cherish them. nari rolled her eyes, slammed her locker door shut.

mark ran over right after he finished packing his stuffs. "let's go?" he asked nari, making sure she was ready to leave. nari told herself not to look back at lucas because if she did, she'd be stupid and would most probably look like as if she actually liked him.

but she did, she did look back — and lucas was gone.

"how was school?!" jihoon coughed out. nari shrugged her shoulders, looking over at mark then looking back at jihoon. "good, i really missed you though, it felt really lonely without you there," nari pouted.

"you missed someone having to protect you, didnt you?" jihoon teased her, nari rolled her eyes jokingly. she just faked a laugh and continued to start another topic.

mark stood up to buy a drink for the three of them. jihoon and nari were the only ones on the table. nari was contemplating whether or not to tell jihoon about what lucas tried doing to her. but the thought soon disappeared from her head because she realized it wasn't anything important anyways.

mark returned to the table, placing their drinks gently down. "you've got company," he whispered to nari's ear. without making it obvious, she looked over the direction where mark was looking at— the entrance door of the cafe.

her eyes widened when she realized that the person waiting for her outside was lucas. "uh —" nari trailed off, standing up. "i need to use the toilet," she cooed, stealthily walking out of the cafe.

lucas fidgeted, slowly smiling at her the moment he saw her. "hi," was the first thing he said when she got outside. nari tugged on the ends of his sleeve and cornered him someplace quiet where jihoon or mark could see them.

"what are you doing here?" nari questioned, folding her arms. "i came to apologize for what you saw earlier on," lucas calmly spoke. nari let out a forceful chuckle, she rolled her eyes. "thanks but i dont need an apology nor was i seeking for one," she faked a smile.

nari was about to leave when lucas pulled her back. "look, it was nothing like what it seemed," lucas tried to defend himself. nari raised her eyebrow. "look, lucas, i dont get why you're apologizing to me," she sighed.

"why are you saying sorry to me?" she asked lucas. "because damnit, i like you!" he blurted out. there was a moment of silence. nari let out a soft chuckle, she rubbed her temples. "no you dont, lucas. you dont like like me nor do you like me," she exclaimed.

"you barely know me! you almost kissing me was a mistake, just like how we first met, alright? we're acquaintances, lucas," nari explained her point of view. "we have nothing going on. whatever happened between us was a one time thing and it will stay that way," she continued.

"damnit, when we first met, i thought you were so arrogant. but when you did that kind simple gesture for me that day, i thought you were different," nari added on, softly speaking.

she looked into his eyes, she took a deep breath and then she said — "but you are just like how everyone said you'd be. you're just this stuck up jerk that preys on others and think that you can get them to fall into your trap by almost kissing them and actually making it seem like as if you liked them and—" and she stopped.

she sighed, "i have to go," she said. just when she wad about to turn around and walk back into the cafe, jihoon and mark were already at the front finding for her. nari popped out from the corner and was shocked to see the both of them.

"where were you?" jihoon asked, sipping on his iced tea. lucas followed nari from behind. "woah— what is he doing here?" jihoon let out a cocky chuckle, tilting his head to the side, looking at lucas.

lucas ignored him. "nari, come on!" he yelled out her name, trying to get her attention. nari snatched her drink from jihoon's hands. "dont worry about him, he was leaving anyways," she scoffed, walking off from the scene — leaving the three of them behind alone.
