Stefanie wakes up to her phone ringing, so she picks it up, not even looking at the caller ID.

"Hallo?" She says in a groggy voice.

"Wow, Stef, did I wake you up?" Says the smooth voice of Erik.

Stefanie, realizing who she is talking to, coughs, trying to get rid of the morning voice, "Um, nah I was just scrolling through Instagram. What's up?"

"I was wondering if I could take you somewhere today."
Stefanie frowns, "Don't you have practice-"

"Last time I checked it starts at 2, and currently it's 9. 5 hours to hang out."

Stefanie sighs, "Ok fine. Where do you want to take me."

She could hear Erik smirking through the phone, "It's a surprise, schatz. Just wear some casual clothes. I'll pick you up in 15. See you."

Stefanie blushes at the nickname, then replies with a "see you" and hangs up. The tired girl groans and gets out of bed.

She does her morning routine, then decides to dress with a white short sleeved hoodie, short ripped jeans, and white Adidas. She grabs a small, white backpack, right before her phone dings. She sees it's a message from Erik, so she starts making her way out of her apartment and down to meet him.

-------------------------------------

After about 30 minutes of singing along to tunes, laughing at nothing, and comfortable silences, Erik pulls the car in front of a shop. The pair get out, and Stefanie looks at the sign: Wylder's Zoohandlung.

"Why are we at a pet shop?" She asks Erik, who just smiles.

"You will see."

The two enter and an elder women greats them.

"Guten morgen you two," she croaks out, "How may I help you?"

"Guten morgen, um, where do you keep your katzen?" Replies Erik. Stefanie widens her eyes as the old lady motions to them to follow. It is a big store, so Stefanie, not wanting to get lost, shyly grabs Erik's hand. He looks back at her and smiles, and she returns it. The old lady takes them towards the back of the store, where Stefanie could hear mews of kittens. They stop in front of a blue door with Katzen written on it. The lady takes out some keys, opens the door, and motions once again for the pair to follow her. The pair enter a room filled from floor to ceiling with cages. The cages are big enough for the cats to roam around and stretch; most have one cat, but there are some with two.

The old lady comes to a stop and turns around to face the pair, "Look around. I will be here for any questions."

Stefanie looks up at Erik, with confusion written on her face. Erik, seeing this, starts explaining himself.

"So, I was thinking," he begins, "Um, there will be a lot of away games, so you will be pretty much alone since I'm gone and Isabel is also gone. I thought that you might need some company while you're alone, and I also read that petting cats takes away stress. So, I brought you here so you can pick out any cat to help you with loneliness and stress."

Stefanie is speechless. No one has ever done this for me before, she thinks, but I will need someone or something to keep me company. She smiles up at Erik and wraps her arms around his neck.

"How did you know that my favorite animal is a cat," she laughs while hugging him.

He laughs back, "Lucky guess, I guess."

Stefanie untangles herself from him, and lets go of his hand, immediately missing the warmth of it. She starts walking down the aisle. After about 2 minutes, her eyes lays on two kittens; one kitten has long, yellow fur with blue eyes, and the other has silky, black fur with green eyes. She feels an immediate connection with the two, so she motions to the lady to come over.
