Peter stays behind still stunned as laura ran off to her room. Once alone and in the safety of her room, she starts to scream. Tears run down her face as she punches the wall. It did more damage to her than the wall. She goes against a wall, sliding down as she wept. The pain was unbearable. She hated it then and hates it now. All she wants is relief. Air, or something to help ease her from this hellish feeling in her chest. Laura gripped at her hair, even pulling some out, only for it to grow back out immediately. Perks of self healing. But that power can't heal normal emotions that everyone goes through.

Peter now coming to his senses, gets up and walks out. He's numb. So numb he doesn't even realize he's crying. Peter couldn't even look at Tony. did he have to do that again? Was Tony going to make him do it again? If so, he'll decline. Watching Tony practically die the first time hurt enough. He didn't want to experience it for a second time.

"Kid, you oh-..." Tony tried to talk to Peter but it was no use.

He was already out of the room. He makes it to his room and just lays there staring at the ceiling. Every little detail replayed in his head like it did six months after the incident happened. He felt as if he failed for a third time. Three strikes, you're out. Was he cut out to be a hero? If he can't make things right in a brain stimulation, then what is the point of being one? He looked over at his web shooters with disgust. He had no great power. He was screwing up all of his responsibilities. Peter grabbed his shooters and hooked a few wires to them. A moment later, the glitched and sparked, notifying him that they were now shot and unable to be used. With a huff, Peter laid back down. Not more Spider-Man. No more.

Laura looks up with everything she has. She remembers smuggling alcohol from May. not the smartest move but she knew at some point she would need a coping mechanism. She weakly gets up, walking over and grabs the bottle of Smirnoff. As she approaches the window, she takes her first swig. She would've thrown herself out the window but she knew that even with alcohol in her system, that she would just come back to life anyway. Defeats the purpose. Laura just sits there chugging, life becoming a painful blur. Numbness refusing to fade. It only made things worse.

About an hour later Peter hears sobbing. He knows exactly who it is since everyone else was able to push through and head to dinner. They probably didn't have as many traumatic experiences as they do. Peter leaves his room and heads to Laura's. Doing this is a huge risk. She could be in any state of mind where he may not make it out alive. Or she could need a hug. Peter is very good at that. He hoped for that option. Taking a deep breath, Peter doesn't knock, he just walks in. He looks around the room, searching for the weeping girl he felt so horribly for. It was his thing. Yes, he can feel sorry for himself. But when someone else is in pain, his natural instinct is to comfort them.

When he found her, still by the window, his heart broke more than it already was. Seeing her drunken depression, sobbing over what she saw, could've ended him right there.

"Laura?" He chokes back tears.

All she does is look up at him and cry even harder. Peter begins to walk over but she stops him. Her hand shook as she put her hand out to stop him.

"No! Go away! I can't... I just can't..." SHe couldn't even finish what she was saying.

Peter ignored her request. He walks over and sits down next to her. He tries to hug her but she resists. She's so drunk that he body is like a dying octopus. Eventually she ended up face down on the floor in a fit of sobs. Peter, using all of the strength he had left for the day, picked her up and placed her in her bed.

"I jus... I'm jus... gonna get you hur." Laura whimpered out.

"No you won't. I promise you won't." Peter tucked her in crawled into bed with her, bringing her into his arms.

It's silent for a minute before Laura sobs more. Peter brushes the hair out her face and leans back to give her a tissue, ultimately having to clean her up himself because she can't tell the difference between the pillow and her nose at this point.

"Peder. I jus gonna get you hur. Every one I wuv oh ways dies because of meh. My fall." She yawns.

"You won't hurt me, I promise. Just get some rest." He kissed her head and waited for her to fall asleep.

"Yeah I will. I kill people before. Whole town. Very bad. No, no. I bad person." She sloppily explained a past event.

"It's the past. Just rest. You deserve it. It was a long day." The statement concerned Peter but he know there was a logical explanation to come, if and when it does.

"Wuv yah bub." Laura murmured out just before she fell asleep.

Peter told himself not to think too much into that. She's drunk and not thinking clearly or thinking about what is being said. It's likely that killing thing is just a traumatic experience she had that she didn't do but she was there. But he cared. He cared so much about her. Peter would be lying if he said he wasn't in full swing crush mode. She's pretty and mysterious. Different and a total badass with physical combat. He admired her skills and what she was capable of doing. He had yet to see her smile but he had no doubt it would make his heart race. Yep, Peter in full crush mode.

"Peter and Laura sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G. First comes love then comes marria-" Peter stopped the song in his head before he got too far.

That was a little embarrassing, even for him. Especially since he'll be turning 18. Adults don't sing in their heads like that unless they're pretending to be opera singers... right? When she was fully asleep is when things clicked. He screwed up his web shooters all because of self hate. Seeing Laura in that state made him realize some people's problems are worse than others. He doesn't know what her dream was, but it had to be worse than his for her to drink herself to sleep. Maybe it was about her dad.

The dream that she told him about on the bus. Just hearing about it broke his heart but if it sent her into a fit like this, how gruesome was it exactly? All of this thinking made Peter even more exhausted. He hadn't realized that he too, was falling asleep. Hopefully Laura would not kill him in the morning for this, but he fell asleep with her that night. All bets and barriers off at that point. But who cares? That fucking sucked.
