"You are so lucky I love you."

"Yeah, yeah, I love you too. Let's get back inside." Scott held his hand out for Mitch to take and they opened the front door and headed back to the dining room.

Connie was already back at the table smiling wide when Scott dragged Mitch back in there. Mitch's heart sped up when he noticed everyone's eyes were on him and he dropped Scott's hand as soon as he was sat back in his chair. He couldn't bring himself to look up from his lap. Scott sensed his weird mood and placed a hand on his knee trying to get his attention.

"What's wrong?" Connie's voice broke the strange silence.

"Nothing, really. Mitch is just a little worried about the fans catching wind is all. The more that people know the more risk of it getting out, you know. So yeah, make sure this stays between us, okay?" Mitch looked at Scott. Why doesn't he seem weird at all about this? He is too calm. Mitch furrowed his brows.

     "Mitch?"

"Yes?" Mitch turned to the warm woman across from him.

"You are so special and more than welcome in this family. Scott couldn't have picked anyone better." His heart squeezed and he blinked back a couple tears.

"Thank you, Connie. That means so much to me." She smiled so bright Mitch couldn't help but smile back.

"She is right you know." Scott laced his fingers with Mitch's "You are the most amazing person I know." he brought their hands to his lips and placed a small kiss on his knuckles. A tear pushed over the ledge and dripped down his cheek. Goddam this is too much. He wiped the tear and leaned over to place a kiss on Scott's shoulder.

"Are you sure you're okay with sharing a room?" Scott said as he pushed his suitcase to the side to make room for Mitch's.

"Yeah, we've shared before. Plus, won't it look suspicious if I sleep somewhere else?" Mitch unzipped his bag and pulled out a long sleep shirt and his toothbrush.

"I guess." Scott followed suit and grabbed his toothbrush and a pair of basketball shorts. "You go ahead first, I'll just change out here and we will swap when you are done." Mitch did his business in the bathroom and slipped into the full-size bed and looked around at his surroundings. Scott's room had barely changed at all since they were kids. Nowadays, Mitch and Scott would come home for usually 5 days, two spent here and two at the Grassi's house, and one to hang with Kirstie and her mom. It was weird thinking about how many nights he actually has spent in this room with Scott, even weirder to think, they actually dated for a bit in high school. A strangely good weird.

Mitch's attention turned to Scott when he emerged from the bathroom, without wearing a shirt and he realized just how much Scott has grown in the past 10ish years. The person in front of him had blossomed from a lanky boy to a full grown man, full of life and ambition and love and definitely looks like a full grown man now too. Mitch's eyes followed down Scott's chest and landed on the hair just below his bellybutton. He didn't want to play this stupid game with Scott. It hurt his heart too much.

"Please don't look so sad," Scott slid under the covers and opened his arms for Mitch. He rolled into Scott's arms and sighed. "I'm sorry for making you do this. If it is really that bad, I will tell her first thing in the morning its a lie."

"No, no, don't do that. We will figure it out like we always do. I was just thinking about how much we've grown since we've shared this bed." Scott's fingers combed through Mitch's hair and he closed his eyes.

"Yeah, we really have. The same but also so different."

"Mhmm," Mitch mumbled, fighting sleep and losing.

"Okay, let's go to sleep. I love you, Mitchy."

     "I love you too, Scotty."

Scott woke up wrapped in Mitch and smiled. He was both used to this and not. They have cuddled all the time for as long as he could remember, but waking up to him sprawled on the bed was different and great. He brushed his hand up and down Mitch's back lightly, wanting to wake him up, but also liking to just watch him peacefully sleep. After a couple of minutes, Mitch started to stir.

A wonderful hand was running up and down his back when he came to. He was between sleep and awake when he felt the chest under his head take a deep breath and he smiled, knowing he was safe and being held. He breathed in deeply, smelling Scott and home all mixed in one and couldn't be happier. He blinked his eyes open and tilted his face up to see Scott smiling back at him. He put his head back down on the warm chest.

"Good morning, sunshine." He could feel Scott's chest vibrate with the deep scruffiness of Scott's morning voice and his spine tingled. He wiggled his toes and hiked his knee higher over Scott's thigh. "I wanted to talk to you about PDA considering we are supposed to look like we are in a relationship."

"Mornin'. And whatever it is, is fine. I'll just follow your lead, mkay?" He patted the chest below his fingers and shuffled his body to get comfier.

Scott swallowed thickly when he felt Mitch wiggle against him and press closer. "Okay, sounds good. You can go back to sleep, we have about an hour before anyone else wakes." He felt Mitch nod and still his movements, slowly falling back into sleep. Scott squeezed his eyes shut. This is going to be a lot harder than he originally thought.
