Mitch stretched his legs and wiggled his toes as he woke up. He noticed Scott was no longer with him and frowned, missing his warmth and comfort. He slowly stood and made his way to the bathroom to brush his teeth and get ready for the day. And boy was it gonna be a weird one.

He made his way down the stairs quietly, unsure of where Scott was and nervous to run into any of his family members. The smell of pancakes made his tummy grumble as he rounded the corner into the kitchen and he let out the breath he was holding when he saw Scott standing at the stovetop flipping a pancake.

Scott initially tensed when he felt arms wrap around him from behind, but relaxed into the warmth of his friend's arms when he realized who had a hold of him. He glanced over his shoulder to see a sleepy face snuggled into him and he smiled, heart fluttering at the sight of Mitch.

"Hi, Scotty." Mitch opened his eyes and kissed the bare shoulder blade of the larger man, tilting his head up to meet Scott's eyes.

"Hi, baby." Scott really didn't mean to call him baby, but the whole moment felt domestic and he let it slip, hoping Mitch wouldn't make a big deal out of it. He did say he would follow his lead, and Scott almost wanted to see how far he would actually follow. He turned his attention back to the pancakes, too nervous to face Mitch's reaction to the pet name. He felt Mitch chuckle against his side and was sure he was getting an eye roll.

Mitch was a little caught off guard by the pet name, but he figured Scott was just teasing him. He rolled his eyes in annoyance and loosened his grip from around Scott's torso, turning towards the cabinet to get a glass for some orange juice. As he poured, it dawned on him that he almost liked the pet name, but he definitely wouldn't admit that to Scott. He leaned against the counter and let his eyes drag up and down Scott's back. Maybe he could tease him right back.

He waltzed back over to Scott, checking to make sure he was in between pancakes and tapped his shoulder.

Scott stopped what he was doing and turned his head to the figure getting his attention. Mitch looked smug and he raised one eyebrow in question.

"Hi, um, I was just wondering if I could get right there?" Scott glanced down into the space between the stove and himself and tilted his head.

"You want right here?" He pointed towards his feet, "Where there is barely any space?" His eyes squinted as he watched Mitch shrug and nod his head. "You know this is a hot stove right?" Another nod. Scott raised his eyebrows and shook his head in disbelief, shrugging and taking half a step backward to make a little more space for Mitch.

Mitch, feeling very smug about this decision, shimmied into the space provided, purposefully wiggling his chest against Scott's and wrapped his arms around his torso again, settling his face in the crook of his neck. He felt Scott's body relax against his as his arms circled around him and he felt his head rest on the top of his own. Mitch sighed into Scott's comforting sway and let his eyes fall shut when he felt a kiss press to the top of his head. What was the point of this again?

He didn't have time to remember before Connie's voice broke the silence and Scott was jumping back away from him like they were caught doing something wrong.

"Oh, you boys are just too cute. Don't mind me, I'm just passing through for a glass of water. Continue your cuddle sesh, or pancakes or whatever, I'm sure the family will be up and ready for breakfast soon." And she was gone almost as quick as she entered the room. Mitch's eyes followed her figure and when she was out of sight, he peeked a glance at Scott.
