I shove the money in my black backpack, swinging it over my shoulder. I check over my outfit: a Shawn Mendes hoodie that actually fits me, and a pair of black leggings. I paired it with these worn Nikes I got from Good Will. They're in pretty good shape though.
"Anna!" Hayley calls again. I sigh quickly pull my hair up into a messy ponytail.
"Coming!"
I go downstairs and shoot towards the front door just as Hayley's going out of it. She smiles at me when I walk by her side and we both crawl into the back of the Jeep. Lyma soon follows, talking on the phone with someone. Her face contorts into happiness, and she keeps glancing at me. She nods, says goodbye, and hangs up just as she gets in.
I give her a weird look but don't question anything. Hayley grabs my upper arm before I can.
"Are you ready?" She asks. "I'm so excited! We're going to get you everything today!"
I shrug. "I don't really need anything. You already bought me a new wardrobe," I say in amusement. I love her for doing so, even if I didn't appreciate it in the beginning. I would've been wearing the same hoodie I wore everyday still. And that's unhealthy.
"Well, we're going shopping. It doesn't mean just for clothes," she says, giving me a mischievous look.
I raise a brow. "What do you mean?"
She giggles and opens her mouth to reply, but Lyma beats her to it. "Don't you dare give away the surprise, Hayley Morgan."
Hayley rolls her eyes, but her smile is wide. She looks at me again, a shimmer in her pretty orbs. "You'll love it."

"Thank you," Lyma says to the cashier, grabbing the small sack and turning to hand it to me, a grin on her lips. "There you go. I'll help you set it up when we get home."
I stare at her in shock, just as I did when we walked into the store. Hayley is squirming in excitement for me, placing her hands on my shoulder and bouncing lightly. The bag hangs loosely on my fingers, still out in front of me.
"A-Are you serious?" I breathe out.
"Yeup!" Hayley exclaims before Lyma can answer. "I convinced her to get you one so we can always talk to each other."
"You've been amazing since you've come to live with us, Anna," Lyma says, eyes warm. "I knew you were going to be tough in the beginning, but I wasn't ever going to give up on you. It helped when you met Aiden."
A smile slowly spreads onto my lips, and without a second thought, I lunge myself into her arms. I squeeze the life from her, and she gasps in surprise. But slowly, she returns the hug.
"Thank you so much," I whisper.
"You're welcome."
After that, Lyma lets Hayley and me to roam the mall by ourselves while she checks us into the spa. I immediately ask if we can go to the music store first. She nods.
We get inside, and my eyes widen. It's a small store, nothing like the actual stores that don't have a mall attachment, but it still has a gorgeous selection.
