Maya

The coffee machine's screen froze and buffered but eventually let the coffee pour into my cup, by which time I had already zoned out; i still haven't called Gus yet and it's been days. He's probably worried sick...maybe I should turn my phone on and see if he's tried to call?

Before I could grab another cup for Pip, a stampede of doctors and nurses came running down the hall and straight into my father's room. Shit. I dropped the coffee cup, not caring about the drink oozing over the floor as I ran to his room; the closer I got the room the louder the flat line bleep got.

This better be a fucking dream.

Standing outside was Mamma and Pip who were crying in each other's arms but Gran was just staring at the floor in shock, not me though. I wasn't going to stand by. Running in i only got a glimpse of his face before a male nurse appeared before me; blocking my way.

"Miss i need you to go take a seat outside"

"No that's my father in there! I - I have to see him!"

"Miss i -"

"- No! I have to see my father l!"

As I continued to force myself past, it wasn't long before I felt more arms pull at my from behind which made me fight harder until I was picked up completely.

"NO!"

I didn't stop thrashing in whoever's arms I was in, kicking at everything in my path in hopes to get even an inch closer to dad. In fact, I was so concerned in getting into his room I never felt the cold needle stab me in the back; sedating me almost immediately.

The last thing I remember is hearing a doctor closest to dad speak;

"Time of death, 2:17am"

"Dude calm down she's with her family"

"But it's been days and I haven't heard a thing! What if she's hurt or in danger?"

"Peep its 5am over there, if you have to call her then just wait a few hours and take a few xans while you're at it. It'll help you chill out"

"I'm just gonna check her Instagram"

Ned shook his head and left the room; he doesn't understand, he doesn't have a girlfriend to care about. Sitting on the couch I whipped out my phone and opened Instagram, Maya had posted a photo only 5 minuets ago.

Not even a second later my phone started ringing and answered before I checked who it was; I already knew.

"Baby?"

"He's gone"

"I'm so sorry"

"I tried to see him but they sedated me"

"Fuck"

"I hate this"

"I know you do"

"I miss you"

"I miss you too"

"I'm coming back Gus, I can't stay here any longer"

Before I could ask any questions Maya hung up, leaving me confused and slightly scared; what the hell was she up to?

Maya

I should've texted Gus first or at least told him I was here somehow instead of showing up outside his apartment at 3am, knowing him though he'll still be up. With my stuff by my feet I knocked on the door, using all the energy I had left; jet-lag is a fucking bitch. I heard footsteps heading towards the door and  the second it was opened I threw myself into the arms of whoever it was, it was Gus.

"Maya? How did you get here?

"By plane dummy"

"Did you walk all the way here?"

"Yeah......."

"Are you okay?"

"No"

Without speaking Gus scooped me up (kicking my bags into the apartment as he did so) and took me to the bedroom; he knew his girl had to sleep. I soon felt my head hit the pillow and the blankets fall on my body, one thing was wrong though...he was walking away.

"Where're you going?"

"Im letting you rest"

"Stay with me?"

As soon as Gus was in bed I curled up to him immediately; like a moth to a flame. His arms snaked around me and pulled me closer to him, the warmth of his body soothing me to sleep. That and the sound of his steady heart beat.

Im home now.
