Samara's P.O.V

Group huggg!

Finally Inayah was out of hospital and now we could just chill at home.

We slowly began to walk home.

"Come stay at our house." Tauhid said.

"Um I think we'll just head home." Hamdan replied.

Tauhid kissed his teeth but didn't argue.

"Inayah should rest at her own place, she'll feel more comfortable." Rumena said and smiled at my sister.

"I think I'll just walk home." I said.

"Nah I'll drop you." Hamdan offered.

"It's like a 10 minute walk, I'm good."

I waved goodbye and turned the streets towards my house.

A tall figure was walking down the same street and we passed each other.

Wait.

I turned around and the figure had already turned.

"Samara! What a coincidence." A familiar voice said surprised.

"Omg Harris? How come you're here?"

"I'm heading home actually, just wrapped up with the shop."

"Oh, alright."

"How are you then?" He asked.

"I'm good, how about you?"

"Yeah I'm alright."

"I should get going now, it's getting quite late. Mum will start worrying."

"Oh yea sure. It's good to see you though, we'll talk soon." He smiled.

"Yeah it was good seeing you too." I smiled back and we both parted ways.

He looked quite awkward today I thought to myself.

He was usually quite laid back.

Oh well, maybe it's because we haven't seen each other in a while.

I decided to call him as soon as I got back home.

"Hey Samara"

"Heyy, I thought I'd call you, our conversation was quite brief tonight."

"Yeah it was wasn't it."

"Yeahh, whatcha doing?"

"Nothing much to be honest, was just laying in bed."

"You should get to sleep, I think I called you at the wrong time."

He laughed.

"Lol no, I wasn't sleeping if you think that, I'm just exhausted today."

"Ahaha oh right, it's been so long I haven't met you up at the shop."

"You've been busy with life." He chuckled.

"I knoww, Inayah was in hospital and it was just so chaotic."

"Yeah I heard, hope she's better now."

"Yeah yeah she's good."

"Well, now that she's good, wanna come over to my shop tomorrow? It's kind of boring all alone."

"You didn't even have to ask. I'll be there."

"Great. I'll see you then!"

"Ahaha looks like it. I'll see you tomorrow yeah? 12 is alright? Then we'll be able to have the whole day together. I gotta go now though."

"Yeah sure, see yaa"

"Byee."

I collapsed in bed and stared up at the ceiling. It was a long day but I was happy that my sister was finally back and better.

My eyes felt heavy as I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

1pm.

Omd I overslept big time!

I rolled out of bed, scrambled to the bathroom, brushed my teeth and took a quick shower.

I left the house and made my way to Harris' shop.

"I come to Mcdonalds five minutes late and you're here nearly 2 hours late now." Harris laughed as he saw me approach him.

"It's only 1:58pm." I said sarcastically acting as if I was extremely early.

"Better late than never." He rolled his eyes and laughed.

Our day went with helping out customers and sometimes when the shop was empty we'd talk and laugh about silly things.

All in all it was a good day.

I looked down at my watch and saw the clock strike 9pm.

"When do wrap up?" I asked.

"In about an hour or two. Why?"

"No nothing, but I think I should get going."

"Oh." He said as hegazed down at his feet.

"Sorry. It is quite late for me."

"Yeah I understand, it was good having you though." He smiled.

I smiled back.

His smile quickly faded and I noticed something was definitely wrong.

"Are you okay?"

"Why wouldn't I be?" He chuckled and walked towards the till as a customer came to check out.

As soon as the customer had left I made my way towards him.

"I know something's up. Tell me what's wrong."

He shook his head and forced a smile.

"It's nothing Samara seriously." He tried to reassure me.

I raised an eyebrow and stood there staring at him.

"I'm not moving till you tell me what's wrong."

He sighed and shook his head once again.

"I swear, nothings wrong."

"You're so difficult." I muttered. "Well if you think you're okay then that's good. I better be off. And if there is something wrong then tell me yeah, I'm here for you."

He nodded and waved me off.
