~The Next Morning~

Neveah groggily sat up in her bed, but once she opened her eyes she realized she wasn't in her own bed. The smell of the sheets and blankets radiated off and into Neveah nose, and it was sickeningly familiar. Her head began to pound once she flipped the sheets off and looked around, the room was unrecognizable. She looked down at her attire, and she was wearing her undergarments and a dark blue button up shirt with the two middle buttons done. She headed to -what she assumed- was the bathroom door.

Luckily it was and she stepped in, and flipped on the light. She squinted her eyes at the blinding light reflecting off the big mirror on the wall. Once her eyes adjusted she looked at herself in the mirror, and the hickeys on the side of her neck were the first thing she noticed. She gasped slapping a hand over her mouth, trying to recall the night before. A shiver ran down her spine as she remembered only images of last nights affairs.

She frantically searched through the medicine cabinet for some headache pills as pictures of Liam ran through her mind. She could remember his delectable lips pressed against her body. She could also remember the things she said to him. The only she couldn't remember was them actually having sex. She poured two pills onto her hand and left the bathroom and walked over to the bedroom door. She peeked her head out at first, she realized she was in an apartment, she also could hear someone in the kitchen. She pushed the door open and made her way over to the kitchens entrance.

And what she saw made her jaw hit the floor, there Liam was standing in nothing but black sweat pants and socks cooking something over the stove. She examined his upper body and torso, focusing mainly on the beautiful art that was permanently tattooed into his skin on his muscular body. The black and occasionally colorful designs made Liam all the more attractive. She averted her attention away from him and saw that their was bottled water near the white, tall pantry. She grabbed one and took the much needed pills. Somehow the loud crack of the water bottle opening didn't grab Liam's attention. She leaned up against the pantry and cleared her throat, finally getting the apparently deaf breakfast maker's attention.

"Oh you're awake, I was wondering when you were gonna get out that bed." He said cheerily, "How's the hangover?"  He asked placing some freshly cooked bacon onto a paper towel covered plate. "Painful, haven't drank like that since, ..." she made eye contact with him, she hadn't been that wasted since sophomore and junior year, when Liam convinced her into drinking. Knowing how she was going to finish her sentence Liam's eyes and smile fell. She immediately regretted her words and as she was about to apologize, he stopped her. "It's fine, don't worry."  He smiled at her, he finished up some eggs and decided to start some pancakes.

Neveah offered to help him, and he gladly obliged. As she was mixing the batter he was getting out the flat pan they needed.

"So when did you decide to move out of your parents hm?" She asked curiously, trying to make conversation. "Me and my old man got into a huge fight and.. him and my mom decided it'd be best if I left."  His gaze fell back to the pan he was holding, he placed it onto the stoves burner. "So I decided to get a job and an apartment."  He said.

As she was mixing she remembered the paintball size marks along her neck. Liam was standing right beside her, cleaning up the counter a bit for more room. She stopped mixing and turned to face him, "Liam, at the party did we...?" She gestured to her neck, he instantly understood what she was trying to ask. "No no, we didn't. You were very persistent though." He chuckled, but then he remembered what happened after he helped her put on her blouse. He swallowed nervously, his mouth was dry and his palms were sweaty.

"Do you uh, ...remember what we talked about last night?" He asked, she froze and stared down at the sludgy tan batter in the big plastic bowl. "I do actually," she thought about her next words carefully. She looked into his eyes once again, there was a glint of hope reflecting back into her own. He seemed as if a he were trying to ask her something with his eyes. She thought back to last night, she remember how she felt about him then and compared it to now.

And she was surprised to figure out her feelings never changed, not even for a split second. Drunk or not she knew exactly how she felt about her first love. But of course, the uneasy feeling of ending up back into a abusive relationship stood as a metaphorical wall blocking her from taking him back. She swallowed hard, "I can't deny, I am starting to feel like I did before but," she paused for a long while, and the images of Liam relentlessly striking her with his balled fists ran through her mind. "Liam, how can I trust that you'll control your temper?" A single tear fell from her right hazel eye.

At first Liam nearly jumped for joy when she clarified that she was gaining feelings for him again. But when he heard the question she asked, and saw the tear fall he almost instantly ceased any movement. "H-how can I trust this relationship won't go down hill again? Liam I care about you so much and I really wanna be with you I do but, I-I don't think I can put myself through that again." She confessed, by the end of her sentence she was practically bawling her eyes out. Liam cupped her cheeks and wiped away the fallen tears.

"Baby, I can promise you, I will do my all to control my temper." He paused, his face grew a slight crimson red and his eyes began to tear up. "I s-shouldn't have even put my hands on you in the first place. I hate myself a little more everyday that I think about what I did to you, and the worst part about it is it's on my mind all the time." It was now Liam's turn to shed a few tears. Neveah didn't know wether or not to she should believe Liam will change his ways for her. "I want to believe you," - "Then do. Please. I know I'm a fuck up but, I'm a fuck up that's willing to change. I am. If it means getting you back, I will get the help I need. Because I'd rather die then see you happy, with another guy." Liam pleads, and she gazes into his eyes, looking for a sign of genuine regret. And she definitely found it.

She looks a little longer and Liam then gets on his knees, and takes her hands in his. "Liam, get up," - "No. Not until you at least give me another chance. Let me prove myself to you Neveah." He pauses, "please. . ." He begs. He put his forehead onto her stomach, and held onto her wrists a bit tighter. But not in the way she remembered he used to. Not in that. . . aggressive way, in fact, it was more desperate than it is was aggressive.

And she took that into consideration, she watched, and felt how his actions seemed different then the last time she had seen him. He used to be cold, and more to himself even in her presence. And the Liam in front of her was the exact opposite of just that. He showed his emotions in ways he never did, and showed how vulnerable he was without her. And not to mention, he showed his common sense, like it was on his sleeve.

Neveah only thought that after remembering last nights events and how he portrayed himself as the mature one. And speaking of maturity, she also saw how he had indeed grew as a person when it came to being an adult. The fact he had a job, and an apartment made him seem, older. She took all of this into consideration as she could feel him oh so slightly shake in anticipation while he was on his knees in front of. It was almost like he was pleading for his life.

She shakes one of his hands off and lifted his chin to where he was looking up at her. "This is your last chance, and I cannot stress that enough. Prove to me you're still the Liam I used to know."
