I stare at him in anger for one, no - two - seconds. And in those two seconds, I witnessed the enraged fury building inside of him.

Suddenly he throws Hayley against a wall, releasing the knife from her neck. She yelps and holds her neck with two hands, feeling if she's okay. It's hard not to scream in here and make sounds, but I know my father wouldn't make any noises anyway. He just wants to get in and out. Get me and go.

I don't think so.

I look to Hayley worriedly. "Are you alright?" I ask in a rush.

She nods, but is unable to speak due to shock. She opens her mouth to try and form words, but then her eyes go wide. She points behind me. "Anna!"

I face to the right, but it's too late. My father quickly grabs my arms and pins them behind my back with one large hand. Compared to my thin wrists, I can't fight back. And when I try, it hurts.

I stop struggling, though, when I feel something sharp pressed against my spine. I completely still, and he moves his mouth near the place where my earlobe hangs just above my neck.

"Listen to me carefully, princess," He whispers in the most terrifying tone I've ever heard. "You don't have a family. Your so-called mother? She ratted you out to me the entire time you have been with her. Hayley was just a pawn in the whole game, something to keep you distracted from Lyma. And Aiden? Do you honestly believe he loves you? You're a worthless piece of shit that has already been used. He only is with you because he feels sorry for you. Just look at you. What is there to love?"

I feel cold all over again, and with every word he speaks I can feel my lungs collapsing. My heart shattering. My veins clodding up. I can't feel anything on the outer layers of my skin. It's clammy and numb.

"That's not true," I say, voice cracking. "I don't believe you."

I look to Hayley, hurt filling me entirely. Maybe he's right. Maybe they all feel sorry for me. But there's no way Lyma would give away all of my personal information to him, right? My sister looks at me in complete shock.

He chuckles darkly. "You don't believe me, huh? Then how would I know where you live? How would I know that your shower is directly across from your bed and the door opens only inwardly. How would I know that you attend school with assaulting teachers and a principal with the last name, 'Parling?' I know everything about you, princess. You never escaped me. And you never will."

By now my crying has engaged full throttle. Tears spill down my face. I don't want his disgusting hands on me. I don't want him anywhere near me. I don't want anyone or anything.

"Let me go!" I shout, not caring if I wake anyone or get caught. "I'll never go back to you! Never!"

Hayley stands up and reaches out for me, but my father stops her. "Sit down or I'll cut you to pieces, bitch." She immediately freezes and sits down, to my fortune. I don't want her getting hurt if she truly was just a pawn in this game.

My father slips a hand around my mouth as to keep me quiet, dragging me down the two flights of stairs as I kick and struggle. I make muffled noises, eyes glancing around and looking for Nico. Where is he? Why hasn't he shown up and heard my screams or thuds?

My father takes me outside and throws me into the grass. My elbow scrapes and throbs, but it merely is scratched. As I scramble away, he grabs my ankles and yanks me back before straddling me. He pins my arms to the ground.
