"i think i'll go to sleep now." she said nodding, walking hesitantely towards the hallway. kihyun followed her with his eyes as he nodded.
"sure. goodnight-
"can i ask you something?" she quickly spoke, turning around to meet his green eyes. he stopped on his tracks and tilted his head.
"sure. anything." he said nodding in reassurance.
"the sketchbook... why did you open it?" she asked with mistrust. in fact, she was slightly upset when she realized he had gone through her things.
her things as kibum's sketchbook.
but kihyun frowned as he looked at her with confused eyes. "the sketchbook is mine." he simply said.
her eyes widened as she took a step backwards. "what?" she muttered.
kihyun took a step towards her as his eyes turned darker. "it is mine. in fact, i was going to ask you... why do you have it?"
yuna looked at him both confused and terrified. "it was at kibum's room, it has his initials."
"no it doesn't. the initials are y.k... which are mine." he said staring intensely into her eyes.
she swallowed hard once her back touched the door that led to her room. "i-i didn't know."
kihyun took a step towards her and suddenly she felt a weird sensation crawling up her spine. "it's okay. there's no way you could have known." he said with a rather distant voice.
yuna stared at him in silence but finally nodded. "mianhae." she simply said opening the door without taking her eyes off of him. "wait here a second." she said.
quickly she walked inside and looked for the sketchbook that was on top of her bed. naturally, the right thing to do was to return it to its owner, which apparently was kihyun's.
she didn't have time to question his statement. he looked really certain that the sketchbook was his and thinking about it, kihyun was an artist so it only made sense it was his.
kihyun waited patiently and his eyes widened in surprise when he noticed yuna coming his way with the sketchbook on her hands. "here." she said, handing it to him.
"it has returned to its owner." she said, trying to flash a sweet smile. there was an odd vibe with the whole sketchbook thing that she didn't want to question right now.
he grabbed it in his hands and nodded softly. "thanks." he said looking at her, flashing a sweet smile. "have a good night." he took a step towards her, looking in her eyes some kind of green light.
yuna didn't know what was going on but next she felt his soft lips, leaving a peck on her forehead.
he took a step back and she noticed how his cheeks had changed colors dramatically. a crimson red shined bright as he bowed his head and quickly made his way out of the room, closing the door behind him.
it was hard to understand what just happened, since yuna couldn't figure out why she felt scared of the way he looked at her at some point in their conversation. how he was cold and distant in a second but warm and shy the other.
she scratched the back of her head as she walked towards the bed, letting her body fall into the soft sheets. a heavy sigh left her lips as she laid down.
as she stared at the window she realized how it started raining again, just like the first days when she arrived and a sadness invaded her body almost immediately.
her mind was clouded with thoughts and questions. it was obvious kihyun wanted to say something about her engagement with kibum but he changed his mind last minute. and his strange behavior at the mention of the sketchbook really awakened yuna's curiosity.
