CHAPTER 6 [sorry]

We stay up the rest of the night talking and laughing, I don't remember when exactly I did fall asleep or if he fell asleep before me but I did fall asleep on face time to Jack last night, and I'm spending most of the day with him tomorrow.

I wake up to Elliott jumping on my bed at 10 in the morning. I got like an extra 2 hours sleep I'd say, just about. When he leaves I decide to walk downstairs to get some breakfast before I start getting ready. I text Jack when I wake up.

Me: just woke up, what time are we going to see each other today for math? x

"Who was that you were talking to early this morning then" my mum asks, making me look up from my phone, quickly switing it off. "Oh it was just Tess" I say, lying again. "She was up ealry for a change" she asks, "er, yeah, her parents are making her go on this early morning hike, since she's out at the cabins with her grandparents for the weekend, they're coming home today" I say, saving myself. "I'm surprised" she says, "me too" I laugh. "Erm, I think I'm going out today mum, you didn't want to do anything did you?" I ask, "oh no don't worry hunny have fun" she says, "okay", I make a coffe and grab a round of toast and head back upstairs.

I go straight upstairs and get changed into some black skinny jeans and a baby pink cropped hoodie and I braid my hair into two french braids. My phone pings,

Jack: so sorry but my mum and the girls are going to be in all day, I don't think you can come here, can we go yours?

Me: I think my mum and Elliott are in all day

Jack: what do we do?

Me: scrap math and go to the mall? you down?

Jack: I'm down

I smile at the text and rush downstairs to tell my mum I'm going to the mall. "Hey mum, I'm actually going to the mall today with some friends from school" I say, "oh okay hun, do you need any money?" she asks, "I've got a bit of my own I should be fine, but thanks anyway mum" I say, "okay sweetheart" she smiles and I head back upstairs. I scroll through my instgram for a bit while waiting for Jack to finish getting ready. After a while he tells me he's done and I go out. "Bye mum love you" I shout before closing the door.

I walk to the corner and see that Jack is already there. "Hey" I say as I walk up to him, "hey" he smiles, "I'm getting skater vibes off you today Jack" I say looking at his outfit, black jeans and top with a red and black checkered shirt tied around his waist. "Why thank you it was what I was going for" he says, "no wonder it took you so long to get ready" I say and we begin to walk, "hey I got here before you" he says in defnese, "toshé" I laugh.

We get to the mall and instantly Jack drags me to one of his favourite shops and buys a bunch of random jumpers and tops. "Do you like this one" he says pulling out a navy blue jumper with rips on, "yeah thats nice" I say looking at it. "Shall I try it on, I don't know if it'll fit me" he says, "go ahead" I say, "just dont take long, I can't be arsed to wait" I say, he laughs, "don't worry" he rolls his eyes. We walk over the fitting rooms and I wait a bit for him to try it on, as well as 4 other tops he picked on the way. I might be here for a while considering he takes great pride in his appearance all the time.

Whilst waiting I get a text from Daniel,

Daniel: hey, what did you think about the date last night? xx

Crap, I have to let him down easy.

Me: it was nice yeah, it was a good first date x

Daniel: so there'll be a second one? xx

Me: Daniel, I'm sorry but it was a really nice date and you're like the sweetest guy I've ever met but I don't think I like you as much and you like me, and I don't want to feel like I have to force it, I'm sorry xx

daniel: no its fine, I get what you're saying, thanks for telling me

Me: I'm really sorry Daniel, its not you, you were amazing I just feel like friends is best for us xx

Daniel: yeah thats fine, I just wanted to try and see if anything could happen

Me: sorry again xx

Daniel: honeslty it's fine, still friends, see you at school? x

Me: sure :) x

Thank God he didn't blow up at me I don't think I could have handled that. With that, I lock my phone and put in back in my back pocket when Jack comes out smiling. His face drops when he sees mine, "you okay Grace?" he asks, "yeah fine, just told Daniel where my heads at" I say standing up, "oh and?" he asks, "I don't think there will a second date" I say, "are you okay?" he says, "yeah I'm fine, come on" I say smiling a little. He smiles back at me making me smile more.

I look at him holding 2 tops in one hand and 3 in the other, including the jumper. "okay so what you getting then" I ask, "I'm getting these three and leaving these two" he says, we walk out the fitting rooms, "keeping these and leaving these" Jack says handing the other two to the lady working there, she places them onto the rack giving Jack a smile, "good to go with that jumper, it would look good on you" she says, I roll my eyes. Here we go with another girl who is in love with Jack. He smiles a little and ruffles his hair, "thanks" he says giving her and wink as we walk off.

Why does this always happen? "I swear every girl on this earth is in love with you" I say, "every one but me" I say quickly after, "she was just being nice" he says, "nope she was flirting and so was you" I say, "why not? A little flirt never hurt no one" he says, and I push him arm. "What? come on" he says, I roll my eyes, "awe are you jealous" he says sticking his bottom lip out, "no I'm not" I laugh, "yeah right" he says, "oh shut up Avery and buy the clothes" I laugh. We go straight to buy them as no one else is waiting to que up.

As we're about to leave, the women from earlier that was working stops Jack, "hey is this your girlfriend" she asks looking at me, "no she's not" he says, "oh, could I give you my number then?" she asks, and I see Jack smirk to himself. Ugh. "Sure" he says, he gives her his number and then we leave the shop together. "Honestly every single girl" I say, "every one but you" he laughs. "Got that right, wouldn't go for you in a million years" I say, "I'm not that bad am I?" he asks, "oh Avery you don't even realise the half of it" I laugh, "ouch that hurts" he says. "Bet it does" I laugh. "Honestly though, how is it so easy for you?" I ask, "like I said, curls get the girls" he smirks, "cocky" I roll my eyes and he winks at me, causing us both to laugh. Ugh, he's such an idiot.
