That Summer | Aaron Carpenter

"Hello?" I asked as Aaron and I walked into our house.

I dropped my bags in foyer as I saw my brother, my dad; Cam, Whitesides and Becky walk over.

"Hey!" Taylor said as we hugged.

"How was the trip?" Becky asked as she hugged Aaron.

"It was so much fun." I smiled and pulled away from Taylor.

"You got a real tan while you were there." My dad said and hugged me.

"It's amazing." I said and looked at my arms.

"Come see the house." Becky said and grabbed my hand. We walked into the kitchen and saw stools against the counter. A brand new fridge with picture hung on it.

We walked through into the dining room and saw it furnished. Then into the living room which had a nice flatscreen hung on the wall. There was a huge, bran new sectional.

"Who paid for all of this?" I asked.

"I did." Taylor said.

"What? Why?"

"I didn't want you to come home to an empty house."

"That's really sweet Tay, but we would have done it."

"It's already done." He smiled.

I shook my head and hugged him, "thank you."

"It's the least I could do." He said. "Plus I bought myself a car."

I laughed and pulled back, "green Lamborghini?"

"Maybe." He smiled.

I shook my head.

"We got the guest room set up as well." Becky said. "Come look."

We walked up the stairs and into the first room. I walked in and saw it had a bed, nightstands and a dresser. We walked into the next room and this one looked the same but had a desk. There were also two bathrooms upstairs. The master bedroom and bathroom were downstairs along with another bedroom.

We went into the master bedroom.

"Wow." I said as I walked it. The furniture was definitely top of the line.

We went into the bedroom downstairs and saw it was just like the two upstairs.

"Do you like it?" Taylor asked.

"It's amazing but there's one thing." I said.

"What?" He asked.

"We need to empty this room out."

"Why?" Whitesides asked.

Aaron put his arm around me.

"We need to start on the nursey." I said.

"Are you...?" My dad trailed.

"Surprise!" I said.

"Oh my god." Cam laughed and hugged me. "Congrats."

"Thanks Cameron." I smiled.

We pulled back and I hugged my dad, then Becky and finally Whitesides.

"When did you find out?" Taylor asked. "You were only gone six weeks."

"Three days ago." Aaron said.

"This is amazing." Becky said.

That's when the doorbell rang. We all walked out and Cameron opened it. I saw Cooper run in, straight to me.

"Cooper!" I smiled and kneeled down. He licked my face, causing me to fall on my butt. "I missed you too Coop."

"Thanks Sierra for watching him." Aaron said.

"Of course." She smiled and hugged him. "How was Hawaii?"

I stood up, wiping Cooper slober from my face.

"It was really good." I said as she pulled away from him and hugged me.

"Tell her what you told us." Cam smiled.

"What?" Sierra smiled.

"We're pregnant!"

"Oh my gosh." She laughed and hugged us. "Congrats guys."

"Thanks Sierra." I smiled.

"Are we going on a shopping trip while the guys take down the bedroom?" Becky asked.

"Yes." I smiled.

"Let's go." Sierra said. "Whose car?"

"Take my truck." Cam said and tossed Sierra the keys.

"Okay." She smiled and walked out, Becky behind her.

"Thank you guys for doing this." I said.

"Of course." Taylor said.

"We'll be back soon with the basics." I said to Aaron.

"I love you." He said. "Be safe."

"I will." I smiled and kissed him.

I walked out to Cam's truck and climbed in the backseat. They both turned in their seats and looked at me.

"What?" I asked.

"I'm just so excited." Becky said. "I really can't express how happy I am."

I grabbed her hand, "I know the feeling."

When we got back, I climbed out and walked inside. I walked to the bedroom and saw the guys sitting on the carpeted floor, talking.

"Hey." I smiled.

"Finally." Whitesides said and stood. The rest of them followed.

"Sierra and Becky are outside waiting for some muscles." I said.

"We'll get on that." Taylor said.

They all walked out as Aaron stepped in front of me. He put his hands on my cheeks and smiled.

"We've got some amazing friends."

"I know."
