The Maze runner: One Shots

Newt p.o.v.

Today the new greenie came. His name is Thomas. Alby gave him a tour of the glade and told me this was a very curious greenie.

At the moment it's already dark and we started the bonfire. Me and Thomas are sitting a little bit from the rest of the people and I just look at them. Specifically at Y/n. They look beautiful dancing and laughing with the gladers. They are the happiest and funniest person here. They can put a smile on my face without intending to do so.

"Are they the only happy person here?" Thomas asks suddenly as he saw my stare at y/n.

"Yeah, pretty much," I say and I see Thomas looking at them.

"That must be hard for them, being with all you serious people." He says and he looks at me. He sits down against the fallen tree and I do the same.

"Well, it was probably in the beginning when they came up that shucking box but now it seems like they're used to it. They always try to entertain us and make us forget about this." I explain and he nods.

"Where you there when they came up the box?" He asks now and I nod.

"I carried them out of it myself," I say, drinking a bit of Gally's recipe be for handing it to Thomas. "They were unconscious when they came up so I carried them to the med-jacks and then I made a promise to myself that I should protect them at all costs," I remember when they lied on the bed by the med-jacks and I didn't leave their side.

"They mean a lot to you, don't they?" Thomas asks now, looking at me with a static look.

"Yes, they do, they are my life," I answer. "If it wasn't for them, I'd jump off those shucking walls," I say and I point at the walls that surround the glade. It's silent for a few moments until I hear someone coming behind us. The next moment Y/n places herself down between me and Thomas.

"Hey boys!" They say happily. "How's it going?" They look from me to Thomas and back to me.

"Good here," I answer them and I smile. "Are you having fun?"

"Yeah, I just danced with Fry and Alby. It was really funny and it got funnier when Fry knocked Gally over into the mud and his face was completely covered with mud so then we had a mud fight." Now I notice that their clothes are covered in mud. "I can't wear those tomorrow, can I borrow your hoodie?" They ask and I nod, still smiling. They drive me crazy. Behind Y/n, I see Thomas wiggling his eyebrows at us which makes me even more nervous.

"So how's your first day here, greenie?" They ask Thomas now.

"It's great, a little weird of course but not that bad." He answers, giving them a charming smile. He knows how to act around them without getting nervous. How does he do that?

"Why don't you two just join us dancing?" They ask now with a smirk dancing on their lips. "And don't say you can't dance because no one here can." I nod and we both look at Thomas now.

"Sure, I guess." He says and y/n claps excited in their hands. I stand up and they grab my hand as help for them to stand up. I blush immediately and try to hide it by looking away but now I look right into Thomas' grinning face.

"Oh, slim it," I say quickly before he can say anything. Y/n already ran off to the others so that leaves Thomas and me again.

"When are you gonna tell them?" He asks, wiggling his eyebrows and I shrug. "Tonight." He demands and I nod out of agreement.

"Yeah, I should tell them tonight." I smile and we run towards the dancing gladers. I walk to y/n and place my hands on their hips while dancing on her rhythm. She turns around and places their arms around my neck as I lay my arms around their waist.

"Hi, Newtie." They say smiling, still dancing.

"Hi y/n," I say on the same tone as them. Everything seems to fade away around them while we dance. We look into each other's eyes as our faces get closer and closer. The moment before our lips touch whispers y/n an 'I love you' and I press my lips against theirs. I hear people cheering around us as we kiss and I feel them smile against my lips so I smile too. They make me so happy.
