"You... you burned me!"
"I didn't mean-"
"Stay away. You're dangerous. You're just like they said!"
Casey watched, horrified, at Kits face, her eyes wide and fearful while she clutched her arm, the burn already looking painful and Casey could see thick and goopy blood oozing down her arm, Casey reached for her and she flinched away.
"You're a monster!"

Casey woke up with a start, breathing heavily and he ran a shaky hand down his face, looking over to his wife who was asleep peacefully beside him, he took a deep breath and got out of bed, heading to the living room and turning on the TV.
Casey stared at the muted TV show with dull eyes, an empty glass with some remnants of his drink in front of him on the coffee table when he heard the patter of small feet, looking over and seeing his daughter Ava in her nightgown, clutching her stuffed bunny.
"Hey Princess, what're you doing awake?"
"Had a nightmare daddy" The girl mumbled and Casey gestured, Ava going over and cuddling up beside her father, snuggling the bunny against her chest.
"Wanna tell me what the nightmare was about princess?" Casey asked, rubbing his daughters arm, Ava nodded,
"Someone hurt mommy...."
Casey froze, swallowed heavily and started to rub Ava's arm again, "No ones gonna hurt mommy princess, not as long as I'm here okay? Even so, your mommy is tough"
Ava nodded and looked up at her father, "Pinkie promise?"
Casey smiled, wrapping a pinkie around his daughters, "I promise".

Kit woke up the next morning to an empty bed, frowning, she got up and grabbed her robe, walking through the empty kitchen to the living room, smiling at her husband fast asleep on the couch with their daughter curled up to him.
Kit walked over and kissed Casey's forehead, the man grunting and cracking an eye open, smiling at Kit, "Morning"
"Morning" She smiled, "What brought you two to the living room?"
"Nightmares" Casey replied, getting up carefully as to not disturb his daughter, "Just silly ones"
"Not silly if its a nightmare" Kit said, hugging Casey, the man hesitated, staring at his hands before he wrapped his arms around Kit, hugging tightly and burying his face in her hair.
