I walk slowly along the beach, feeling the soft sand in between my toes. I shiver from the night chill and stuff my one free hand into the pocket of my hoodie. The other was preoccupied with carrying my shoes. The moon reflected white waves into the sea, shimmering and shifting eloquently with the tide. I keep moving along the familiar coast, waiting for the smooth sand to turn rocky.

Eventually I slip on my shoes and step over stones, picking up my pace. He's gonna complain I left him waiting. I smile at the thought of his childish behavior and climb over a large rock, careful not to fall and twist my ankle. I round the corner of an oval rock, and peer into the familiar cove.

I smile at the long, slender figure turned away from me. Keith lied partially in the water, partially on the smooth sand that had a large blanket spread out on it from previous meetings. His long, metallic red tail flicked in and out of the water limply. His head was laying on his crossed arms, a melancholy look about him. His halfway dried mullet flared in the back from his slouching.

"Hey." I greet, walking into the warm cove. He sits up immediately, turning around to face me.

"You're late." He says spitefully, despite the smile on his face.

I roll my eyes and lean down, tilt his head up with my hand and kiss his forehead,"Deal with it."

He huffs but pulls himself closer, not letting his tail out of the water. I sit on the blanket, stretching out with a sigh and lean back. I reach into my pocket and pull out a bag, tossing it to him.

"I cleaned them last night, so they don't smell like fish anymore." I say, turning away and closing my eyes.

He grumbles a thank you, what he's annoyed about I'm unsure. Probably being late. He's always so scared I'm not going to show up and want to be with him anymore. I hear the rustling of the bag and the zipping of jeans before he says,"Done."

I turn my head back and look at the humanoid version of my merman boyfriend. A red and white, cropped jacket over a black tee and black jeans.

Keith lies down next to me and snuggles up close, wrapping an arm around my stomach. Nuzzling my neck, he places brief kisses along my jaw as I lean into him.

"I missed you." He murmurs, all feelings of annoyance forgotten.

"I missed you too." I reply softly, intertwining my hand with his.

He smiles against my jaw, playing with the hem of my hoodie. Slipping his hand inside, he snakes his arm around my sensitive skin, pulling me closer. I twist around and face him, our foreheads grazing eachother. I bring a hand up and cup the side of his face, thumbing his cheek. I smile as he leans in and presses his lips against mine.

They were soft and warm, pushing away any thoughts that weren't about him. As we kiss, I pull myself closer, our legs interlocking into a tangled mess and our chests rising and falling against eachother. I break our lips apart, only to nuzzle his hair and plant kisses on his neck. He hums happily, stroking my hair gently. I search for his sweet spot, the one that makes him melt, and find it quickly from previous endeavors. I kiss it softly, much to his pleasure as he moans and leans into me. He's so cuddly.

"God, you make me feel so good." Keith murmurs blissfully. I laugh and pull away, kissing his cheek before lying on my back again.

He shrugs off his jacket before swinging a leg over mine, wrapping both arms around me. He nestles into the crook of my neck, sinking into me as he relaxes. I bring my hands up, one rubbing his back and the other buried in his hair. Groaning as my fingers weave through his hair, he closes his eyes and exhales against my neck.
