Something is wrong

There are two times today when James himself felt that something is wrong and one time Logan knows that something is off.

The first time James notices something, is when he wakes up. He looks at his clock and is immediately awake. He has slept through all four of his alarms and has just twenty minutes left to get ready for class, which is impossible, at least for him. He never sleeps through his alarms and usually he never feels this warm at mornings. Usually he feels cold after waking up.

The first snow has fallen the day before and it's really cold these days so it's a surprise that he actually feels hot this morning. But there's no time to think about it. He rushes through his morning routine, gets dressed and grabs his bag and keys. As he leaves, he rushes past his roommate, who eyes him skeptical. Yes, they live here together, and they get along just fine, but they barely spent any time together because he has a girlfriend, which occupies him most of the time and when James isn't with Logan than he's studying or plays games in his room all day. So, he just rushs past him with a quick „Morning", grabs a toast from the kitchen counter and is out of the door.

The second time he feels off is in class. He can't concentrate on what the professor is telling them, and he can't even read his own writing on his paper. The letters swim in front of his eyes and that makes his head ache. One girl that sits beside him pokes him on the shoulder. He snaps his head up and looks at her. "Hey. Are you okay? You're really red, you know." She whispers in his ear, and he can feel his blood rush to his face. "Ah, eh... Yeah. I have a headache actually. But I'm fine. Thank you." The girl looks him over but nods then. She pats his shoulder and then stares down to the teacher again. James tries to do the same thing, but still can't get a grip on everything. As he finishes the class, he feels tired. He thinks that it's strange because he slept well last night and until now, he didn't even do anything which would have made him tired this fast. He packs his stuff in his bag and walks out of the room. When he's in the hall he looks out through the window. Snow falls again, and he's just glad that today's his day off in the café. He has no intention on walking through the snow in the afternoon to get back to his dorm and freeze to death. He shifts his gaze to his watch on his mobile. One more class before he can meet up with Logan to get some lunch. He sighs. How can he even remember anything today?

Logan knows it as soon as he sees James. He looks pale but with a flush. His moves are sluggish and he seems tired already. "Hey, love. How was your day?"

"Okay, I guess."

"Okay you guess?" Logan frowns but says nothing. He also knows how James hates it when he fusses over him. It reminds him of his mother and that triggers some kind of homesickness. So, he keeps quiet and just guides him to a table near a window. He walks off to get something to eat and most importantly, to drink. If James isn't himself, he should at least drink something to stay hydrated. He returns to his boyfriend about ten minutes later and finds him asleep, head on the table. "Oh, Jesus. Really, James?" Logan places the food and drinks on the table and gets his coat from his chair. He places it over James' back and feels his forehead. His body temperature surly is higher than it's used to be but not concerning, though. "Okay, fine. Keep pretending you're okay but I'm not going to wake you up now." True to his word he sits across of him and eats his own lunch and watches the snowflakes fall down. Sometimes, his gaze switches to James when he makes some sound or shifts slightly but never wakes up. As he has only fifteen minutes left, Logan thinks he has to wake James. The brunette stands up and stays beside the sleeping red-head. He moves his right hand to James cheek and strokes it softly. "Hey, James. Wake up. You need to eat. You have only fifteen minutes." All what he gets is a groaned "no". He sighs but returns to stroking his cheek. "Baby. Wake up. Otherwise, you're going to be late"

"What? Shit. How late?!"

"Relax, honey. You have some time left. But you need to eat or drink at least." James eyes his food and then grabs the package of orange juice. "When did I fell asleep? I can't remember."
