going gorillaz!

     Around early March/late February, Jamie had called you and the rest of the band down for another music video. You knew this was coming, and you knew it'd be 'Clint Eastwood'. You just had a feeling.

      'Clint Eastwood' was a mysterious song to you. You heard it was rapped by Del. No one told you more than that. You were so curious to know who he was, but all everyone said was, "He's an old friend of Russel's." Russel never talked about him.

     Anyways, you didn't mind coming so early after your last music video, you really liked Jamie. He was just about the same as Damon, who you also fancied a bit.

     Jamie explained the video to you, and then you started shooting.

      It started with a black screen, as you played your melodica. The screen began saying 'Gorillaz' in that infamous red spraypaint. Murdoc's laugh can be heard, as it then said something in Japanese. It was translated to English, "Every dead body that is not exterminated, gets up and kills, the people it kills get up and kill." The camera then showed Murdoc's  zoomed in face. Once the camera zoomed out on him, he stopped laughing. His face changed quickly, to a more serious facial expression. Russel then showed up on his drum set. He hit the symbols four times, and the bass and guitar joined in.

     Noodle played her guitar across the screen, joining the others. Then 2D did the same. You came in last, singing, "Oo-oo-oo-o-o." You grinned, that was your favorite part. Noodle's head bopped as she played along to the beat.

     Stuart began singing, Noodle in the background. "I ain't happy, I'm feelin' glad. I got sunshine-" 2D squinted one of his eyes. "-in a bag."

     It then showed his profile, with dramatic lighting on him. You couldn't see his face. Murdoc was in the background, plucking his bass strings creepily. You joined in on 2D's vocals once the chorus repeated.

     Russel was hitting away at the drums, nodding his head to the beat. His hat began floating. You were scared, what was happening? Jamie didn't explain this part. Russel's head dropped slowly, was he okay? He was still playing his drum-set, but it was like he was dead. "It's coming on, it's coming on, it's coming on, it's-" You heard a groan, and a "Yeah!" As you sang. You turned around, only to see a TWENTY FOOT GHOST, wearing Russel's hat. Why wasn't anyone freaking out?! You were about to have a heart attack!

     He began rapping. Wait. Was this Del? It had to be. Why is he a ghost? What happened? You furrowed your brows, examining the ghost. You were still pretty scared, but it's not your fault! Ghosts freak you out!

     Del looked around at the band. "Nah, I couldn't be there." His eyes landed on you. Chills went down your spine, and your knees bucked. "Nah, you shouldn't be scared." He continued rapping, giving you a small smile. He picked you up and sat you on his shoulder, trying to show he was nice. He continued rapping as you tried to process what happened. 'He's a good ghost.' You thought to yourself, 'Don't be scared.' You repeated to yourself multiple times.

     He began to stomp around the graveyard. The band looked at him in awe. They weren't quite scared, though. He jumped up, causing you to hold on to his shoulder tightly, in fear of falling. He landed hard enough to cause a crack in the ground. He probably meant to do that. Red light was shown through the cracks. The crack led all the way in between 2D's legs. The red illuminated off him, he looked like a zombie.

      More cracks showed up around the bandmates, but none of them looked phased by it. Except Murdoc, but he only seemed surprised. Pillars began sprouting through the ground, along with other gravestones. Del opened his arms widely, and his head practically popped off his body. You stared at him in shock.

     2D began singing the catchy chorus again, as more pillars showed up and it started pouring. Hard. The band kept playing. Russel's head was still down as he played.

     You sang the chant with 2D, and yet again, more paranormal things appeared. No surprise there. Blue, furry hands started popping out from the ground. One of them grabbed Murdoc's crotch. His facial expression caused you to laugh. The hands disappeared for a moment, causing you to sigh in relief.

     Then they jumped out of the ground as full bodied apes. Red, glowing eyes and all. Murdoc began running away, but they chased him. You began to dance to Del's rap. You weren't scared of him now. If he wanted to kill you all he would've done it by now. Murdoc sighed and turned around, ready to face them. They began dancing, causing Murdoc to become off guard. Lightning struck, and Murdoc skidded a while away.

     "No squealing, remember that it's all in your head." He whispered the last part and disappeared. You fell just as 2D turned around curiously. You would have fallen on the ground, if you hadn't of grabbed Stu's back last second, holding on to his shirt for your life. He almost fell over when that happened, but he balanced himself, and started the chorus again.

     Noodle began running up to one of the apes. She knew what she had to do, since no one else would do it. With a huge smile on her face, she jumped up and kicked the ape, square in the face. She was so cool! Maybe she could teach you that sometime. He flew backwards, and landed on the ground with a loud 'Thud!'. Del, who you didn't notice was back, began flowing into Russel's head. Russel almost immediately woke up. Weird.

      The apes began disintegrating, and that was it. The sunlight was back. You all looked at each other confused. What the fuck just happened?

     Jamie grinned as he called you into the lobby of Kong Studios. "Right, so here it is!" He showed you lot the edited version of the music video. It wasn't bad at all. You didn't even realize while you were dancing, Del looked over to you and smiled. He really was sweet! At the end of the video, the cymbal clashes were heard, and it showed the scene where you almost had 2D fall. In red spray paint, it said '2-D'. Was this an introduction? You guess if you want fans, they'd better know your names. It zoomed out and showed five boxes. Stuart was on the top left, Noodle on top right, Murdoc on bottom left, Russel on bottom right, and you in the center. You felt special for being in the center, but it probably didn't mean anything.

      It showed Noodle's kickass scene as her name showed up. She grinned as she saw herself on the computer screen. Then, it showed Russel as he suddenly woke up from Del's ghost rap. Murdoc was shown as he was about to face the apes. Then you were shown, throwing your arms around on Del's shoulder like a rapper would do. You laughed quietly at yourself.

     There were four clashes again, and the screen turned black. You all were in awe at the video. Before anyone could say anything, you hugged Jamie. Him and Damon were making you lot famous! "Thank you thank you thank you!" You exclaimed. He chuckled and hugged you back.

March 11th, 2001

     You stared at the monitor. Murdoc was right. You hit number three in UK top charts! Your heart stopped, you couldn't believe this was happening. This song only came out six days ago, and it already hit top five?
