Words Hurt

Sophie's POV

We'd all arrived at the beach about ten minutes ago. The girls and I were just lounging around gossiping whilst the boys were attempting to play football. I put a lot of emphasis on the word attempted; Caspar had no idea what he was doing, Alfie kept scoring in Joe and Jack's net which caused Caspar to have a strop, Jack kept falling saying the sand was tripping him up, and Joe was constantly kicking the ball into the sea! Although this lot are weird, they're my best friends, and I wouldn't change them for the world!

"I can't believe we have mocks starting Monday!" Zoe groaned.

"I know right!" I groaned.

"Which ones do you have first?!" Poppy asked. 

"Law!" I answered.

"Catering!" Zoe replied.

"You?!" I asked. 

"Geography!" Poppy groaned.

"At least it's just one week of them!" I said.

"Yeah, I guess" Zoe said. 

"Yeah and as soon as we've finished our exams for the day, we get to go home straight after!" Poppy said. 

"Yeah that's good!" I said. "I'm just worried about keeping on top of revision!"

"You'll do great!" Poppy said. 

"Yeah!" Zoe said. "And we can revise english language together!"

"Our art mock is going to be a nightmare!" I groaned. "Six hours in the hall!"

"I know right!" Zoe groaned.

"Well, i'm relieved I didn't take art!" Poppy laughed. 

"I bet you are!" Zoe laughed.

"How many exams does everyone out of us have on Monday?!" I asked. 

"Me and the boys only have one, it's in the morning!" Zoe replied. 

"I have two; the english language in the morning and religious studies in the afternoon!" I groaned. 

"I have two on Monday too!"Poppy said. 

"I'll have to drive myself for once!" I laughed. "I haven't had to drive myself to school for a while! Joe's took me!"

"If you want, Joe could take you as normal in the morning and since we're the only ones out the group who have two exams, I could drive you home!"

"Really?!" I asked. "You sure?!"

"Yeah of course!" Poppy said, smiling.

We were just leaving the beach. Joe and I had just got in his car. 

"Wanna stay over tonight?!" he asked. 

"Sure!" I said, smiling. 

"Great!" he said, smiling. 

But then I remembered something. I sighed.

"What's up?!" he asked. 

"Can we quickly go to mine?!" I asked. "As much as I don't want to see my parents at the minute, I need a few things!"

"Sure babe!" he said, smiling.

We'd just pulled up at my house. 

"Want me to come in with you?!" he asked.

"I'll be fine thanks!" I said, smiling. "What would I do without you?!"
