"Sure, talk. Come right on over, buddy." Kenny said, cackling wildly.
I rolled my eyes again, before continuing the short walk to his place. Ruby and I remained quiet for a bit until we reached the front door. I knocked once, causing a shout to be heard from the inside.
"Karen! It's your girlfriend, Ruby!" said who I assumed was Kenny. I chuckled, only to get gently punched in the arm by my blushing sister.
"Go choke on a dick, you skank." Ruby said, glaring at me. The door flew open, revealing a tiny Karen with a huge smile on her face.
"Ruby!" she screamed, tackling my sister in a hug.
"I'll leave you two, to it." I said before heading into the rundown building. I made it to Kenny's room, and debated whether or not to knock. I decided to leave my manners at the door and flung it open.
There was Kenny, laying on his stomach. He was scrolling through his phone on his run down mattress.
"Ever heard of knocking, Fucker?" he said in a snarky fashion. He was trying his best to hide his worry, but a lifetime of showing no emotion taught you how to read others fairly well.
"Why do you look so worried?" I asked, ignoring his comment, I crossed my arms and leaned against a wall.
Kenny's gaze quickly shifted from his phone to me.
He sighed.
"I can't keep anything from you, now can I? It's Kyle." he said, voice catching.
I nodded my head before sliding down onto the ground, gently pulling my knees to my chest. It hurt a bit, but I'd rather feel slight comfort from curling up then the emptiness of not.
"He got a scholarship from his first choice college already! His parents are taking him to go look at it this week, so he's going to be gone the entire time." Kenny said, sitting up and looking at the ground.
He continued, voice cracking, "Do you know what it feels like to have your boyfriend leave for college and you can't go with him because you're fucking poor and have to live off of food stamps? He has all of these possibilities but for some reason he chose the worst one ever. Me."
I slowly stood up, and walked over to him. I sat down next to him and put my arm around his shoulders.
"You may have a few problems, but I'm sure Kyle does too. Everyone does. He's with you for a reason, and from what I can see, you guys aren't in a toxic relationship. I'll bet, if you texted him right now, he'd say the exact same thing as me. He cares, and yeah, it's going to be hard, but in a relationship you're both going to have to work together." I said, everything pouring out. I had learned that from watching my parents failed relationship.
A lot of shit happens in South Park, and it's surprising that most couples have stayed together this long.
Kenny just nodded his head before taking a deep breathe.
"Damn, that was pretty gay Craig." he said laughing.
"Eh, it's not the only thing." I said, before realizing my mistake.
Kenny just looked at me before letting out a gut wrenching laugh.
"It took you long enough! It's like you were the last one to know." he said, rolling onto the floor, holding his stomach.
I frowned, slightly confused.
"What the hell are you talking about?" I asked.
"When's the last time you had a girlfriend?" he asked, trying to calm himself down.
"Um, fourth grade?" I said, slightly embarrassed.
"Alright, okay. Now, have you ever had any, sexual, thoughts about anyone of the same gender?" he asked.
We continued the conversation like that for a while. He'd supply the questions and I would respond to the best of my ability, even if they were slightly embarrassing.
About an hour or two had passed and that's when Kenny delivered the answer that had plagued my mind.
"You, Craig Tucker, are a flaming homosexual." he said, before giving me a gentle pat on the back.
I sighed before flopping backwards. I stared at the ceiling for a bit. I had told Kenny about Tweek, and how long we had talked. I was advised by Kenny to quote on quote, "Grab the little fucker and don't let him go."
I was still conflicted. I felt ready to attempt a relationship, but I didn't want to pull someone into the whirlwind of my abusive family. Plus, there was still so much we didn't know about each other.
Kenny decided to add Kyle to our conversation, plus he was acting like a lovesick puppy after a while.
Kyle's face soon appeared on Kenny's phone.
"What the hell? Tucker the Fucker, what's up dude?" Kyle said, straightening his hat and flopping onto his hotel bed.
We talked for a while, well into the night. My phone had long since died and my makeup had been washed off.
I decided to crash at Kenny's for the night, with Ruby safe in Karen's room.
I fell asleep with a small smile on my face.
Maybe It would be okay, to be gay.
