They landed in a small grove at the border between Storm and Flame Herd's territories. On one side was Whitemane and his guard, often other warriors, and an army waiting in the shadows in case a skirmish broke out, and on the other was a stallion Rainfall had learned as named Bearstone, whose guard seemed to mimic her grandfather's.

Bearstone was a large stallion as well, but not as massive as Whitemane. He had a grey horn and red feathers that accompanied a grey coat.

"Bearstone", Whitemane greeted with a weariness that unsettled Rainfall.

"Whitemane", Bearstone replied.

"What brings you to our lands?", Whitemane asked with an unsettling calm.

"We all know there's calm before the storm, and I'm here to prevent that storm", Bearstone answered.

"Are you threatening us?", Quillflower suddenly snapped, her horn glowing pink with an ominous light. Bearstone seemed unfazed.

"I could be", the Over-Stallion replied with a sly grin. Rainfall realized she already hated him.

"Just spit out what you wanted to say so we can carry on with our lives", Whitemane commanded.

"Storm Herd has too much territory and I think it would be better spent on my herd, which is growing like a wildfire", Bearstone explained. Rainfall saw Whitemane's horn flicker blue for a split second.

"There's a reason why we have set territories, so all unicorns have enough to eat without conflict", the Storm Over-Stallion said.

"But my herd doesn't, which is why we need your land", Bearstone replied as he pawed the ground.

"Maybe famine will be good for your herd", Rainfall quietly remarked.

"Wanna say that again?", another unicorn snapped, a colt. Bringing a foal to meetings between leaders was a sign of peace, but this colt was in danger of starting a fight. He had his horn pointed at Rainfall's throat.

"I SAID MAYBE FAMINE WILL BE GOOD FOR YOU!", Rainfall trumpeted. The colt suddenly launched himself at Rainfall before any steed could stop him and Rainfall leaped into the sky. The colt blasted a large column of fire and Rainfall deflected it with her bubble. Her horn glowed gold and she dove at the colt. The colt's horn also glowed and he reared up, their horn colliding and creating a large flash of light and a boom followed by a shower of sparks. Rainfall's ears were ringing as she slowly got to her feet. The colt did the same and the other unicorns gasped at the sight, his horn had broken and the separate fragment now lay on the ground. Rainfall's heart dropped after realizing what she had done. One of the Flame Herd guards seized the colt's tail and dragged him back to their side of the border wordlessly. Bother herds stared at each other in an uncomfortable silence.

"We mean when the moon reaches the highest point in the sky", Bearstone said.

"Here without interference", Whitemane added. The two Over-Stallions turned and headed back into the hearts of their territories.

Rainfall walked behind her grandparents with shame, but she chose not to show it.

"We were lucky", Quilflower said to Rainfall without looking at her.

"Yes, but I don't think Rainfall needs to go to a meeting again, Bearstone may try something sketchy", Whitemane replied. Rainfall could instantly tell they were talking about her, but she chose to be discreet about her eavesdropping.

"He sees something in her, potential?", her grandmother guessed.

"Perhaps, but for now, Rainfall needs to stay in the heart of the territory", Whitemane snorted. They continued through the woodland for some time and finally made back to the plains at nightfall. The unicorns of Storm Herd were settling down to sleep. Whitemane went off with a group of warriors to survey the land for danger, while Quillflower stayed behind to take care of the rest of the herd.

Once Rainfall heard the snores of her grandmother, she quietly snuck off, casting a silence spell from the Night arc, a forgotten art that had only bits and pieces of it practiced. Each of her hooves silently touched the ground as the red filly crept into the woods. There, she broke into a gallop, clearing fallen trees and ducking under low branches. She finally made to where she had been trying to get to; some ancient ruins that had been left by... someone. The young unicorn passed under a decaying stone arc that was covered in moss. Collapsed walls, stair, and roofs were all over the place. Rainfall did admire the architecture, but she was more interested in the writing on the wall. Ancient glyphs were covered in them, their meaning still unknown. This made Rainfall frustrated, but what did help was that there were pictures on the wall that seemed to depict an epic battle. She saw various creatures gathered together, all of them seem to be running towards an ominous black cloud that had taken a peculiar form that seemed to be humanoid. She could identify some of the creatures though; Guardians, humans, Cyxens, regular foxes, Astral Wolfs, Lycans, cats, dragons, griffins, other unicorns, odd combinations of dragons and wolves, a group of humanoids with weird symbols on their faces, the Shiraku Wolves and Abaki Lions, and many more. Even though many of these things didn't live on Briax with the unicorns, or even in their star system for the matter, Rainfall and many other unicorns were still taught about the life in their star's trio.

Briax was one of the planets belonging to the star Azyron, which was a part of a trio of mystical stars, each one with their own star system. Rumor had it that the star even gave out a unique ability to anything born to its planets. Galaris, a large blue star, was said to give an increased physical prowess. Her grandmother told her that Guardians could be repeatedly stabbed in the head and rarely died from the injuries. The humans in that star system were similar too, there were often stronger and tougher than others. Azyron, a medium sized yellow star, gave increased mental prowess. The unicorns were a very intelligent species and could understand and process things creatures from the other two stars couldn't. Briy, a small red star, gave its inhabitants emotional intelligence. They were often peaceful problem solvers that could empathize with just about anything.

The three stars shone over the ruins, appearing as specks of intense blue or red. It's very rare for the all three to be in the same dimension, let alone so close to each other, she realized. But that could just be the remaining light shining down of Briax after the stars had jumped to another world, but Rainfall wasn't sure. She stood there, studying the scene until dawn.
