I fall out of my transcendental state as the sun starts to take it's affect. The warmth from it's rays lulls me toward the edge of consciousness. Just as I submit to the grasp of sleep, the sound of rippling water alerts my senses.
Before I can open my eyes and react, wet and nimble fingers run through my bangs. A shiver runs down my spine, tingling pleasurably. Stupid sensitive hair.
"Hey, Sleepyhead."
My waking reflexes suddenly freeze at the familiar voice. Recognition sparking in my mind, the goosebumps on my skin falling as my senses relax. I start to smile as fingers run through my hair again, easing my alert nerves. Without needing to open my eyes to know for certain who it is, I respond.
"Hey, Love."
Y/N scoffs and clicks her tongue is playful annoyance, "Wow, Keith. Not even going to look at me while you're talking. Rude."
My smile turns into a grin at her enticing words, sending a feeling of lightness to the tip of my tail. Opening my eyes slowly to better adjust to the bright sun, I gaze at the most beautiful mermaid in the sea.
She was barely out of the water, everything under her upper torso still surrounded by the clear ocean. I could partially see her F/C tail swishing back and forth in the water. Despite being hidden under the waves it shimmered like Atlantis, iridescent in the light.
Different shades of seaweed were wrapped around her chest, a band going up and around her neck to keep it in place. A chain of pearls hung of each side, draping low enough to reach her upper bicep before connected to the seaweed on the other side.
Her chin was resting on her crossed arms that leaned on my rock, inches away from my own face. Delicate eyelashes held tiny droplets of water, making her gaze glitter. From the minimal distance, I could see her E/C eyes perfectly. To my surprise, I can make out small flecks of light brown dotting her irises that had gone unnoticed by me until right now. She's gets even more beautiful every time I look at her.
Her H/C hair was wet and stuck to her skin like a lifeline, slick from the water. Despite that, it framed her face like she was an expensive piece of art. Soft lips that I loved to kiss and touch were curled into a heart melting smile. I find my eyes glued to them, my mind entranced by the idea of feeling them pressed against my own.
Just the thought of it made my chest fuzzy
"You're so subtle Kogane." Y/N says, teeth flashing from under her smile. I break out of my fanciful daze and glance up to meet her mischievous eyes. Before I have time to react, she leans forward and kisses me with a grin played on her lips.
A wave of ecstasy washes over me, leaving my mind blank and unable to react besides reflexively closing my eyes. After a second I shake my head mentally and lean into her lips, kissing back with an enthusiasm. I smile as she cups my cheeks and guides me to deepen the embrace our lips were in.
Unable to hold back the euphoria of the feeling of her lips caressing mine, I let out a content sigh. Y/N smiles before leaning closer, pressing her lips into a tighter lock with mine. I let out a muffled noise of surprise before quickly understanding and letting it fade into a hum. After a long moment, she pulls away. I follow her lips with my own for a second, hoping to at least graze them a little longer so her intimate touch doesn't end, but give up almost immediately.
I keep my eyes closed as the kiss fades, reveling in how she effects me. I wish I could kiss her all day. She's so soft and warm. I'm pulled suddenly out of my trance as she starts to thumb my cheek, making me feel weak from affection. Before I can stop myself I press into the palm of her hand to better feel the touch I constantly craved.
