Three days later, Yanjun still hadn't broken things off with Jieqiong.

He also still hadn't talked to Scarlett.

To say she wasn't bothered by it would be an absolute lie. It bothered her at some points, but at the same time she was so grateful for it. She knew if she were to be alone with Yanjun, things wouldn't end up the way they were supposed to. She had one more week before she needed to head back to California and if he didn't talk to her the whole time she would be set.

"Hey, Scar," someone said as she walked on school campus with her backpack hanging on a single shoulder and her phone in her hand. She looked up to see familiar face and smiled.

"Hey, Vin."

"I haven't seen you in a while. What's up," he walked beside her, she didn't mind of course.

"Yeah, I've been traveling between here and America for work. How about you," she asked.

Yanjun had just got out of his English class and was walking with Jieqiong. Her hand was in his and she was talking about the paper she was writing for her history class. Yanjun wasn't paying much attention because he saw Scarlett and Ruibin walking close to one another. She was smiling, her bright white teeth revealing themselves as she spoke.

Yanjun knew she didn't feel anything for Ruibin, but he was jealous. He was so jealous of how close he was to her and how she was smiling at him.

"Yanjun, you're not listening," Jieqiong whined, tugging on his hand.

"Oh...sorry."

Jieqiong went on to talk about something else and Yanjun still didn't pay attention. He looked back in Scarlett and Ruibin's direction and saw they were talking to Professor Chu, the dance teacher.

Scarlett was biting her lips, she looked unsure about whatever was being talked about. She nodded her head slowly then spoke a small sentence. Mrs. Chu smiled and waved before walking off in the other direction.

When she was gone Scarlett turned to Ruibin, her body facing Yanjun's direction, but she didn't see him. Her eyes were focused on Ruibin, a small sad smile spread across her face. She said something then her arms wrapped around Ruibin's neck and his wrapped around her waist. She gave him a tight hug before pulling away.

"Text me and tell me how things are going, okay? If you need help just let me know," she told Ruibin and he nodded with a smile. "I'll see you later. Bye, Vin."

"I will. Don't work too hard, Scar. Bye," he smiled, turning in the other direction. He waved and then he was off. Scarlett watched as he left, her eyes slowly moved away and that's when she noticed Yanjun. He was holding Jieqiong's hand, she hadn't seen Scarlett, but Yanjun was silently watching her.

Scarlett noticed the small frown on his face and sent him a small, friendly smile. After a moment, he returned it and Scarlett's phone rang. Her eyes were ripped off of Yanjun and she saw Mr. Qui calling her. She quickly answered it and held it to her ear.

Yanjun saw her eyes widen and she quickly pivoted, not looking at him again. She quickly left, talking on the phone and walking towards the parking lot.

"Interns," Scarlett muttered, now sitting in her office. She had gone home to change into something more fit for work and quickly drove to the company building.

"We hire at least five every year. We've already narrowed down the list to twenty, but you need to choose who you think is fit for the job," Mr. Qui said handing her a stack of files each having a résumé.

"And I'm supposed to meet them all today?"

"No, only half of them today and the rest tomorrow. You need at least five and the maximum is ten," he informed. "The first one will arrive momentarily. I'll send them in."

"Okay," Scarlett sighed as he left and looked through the files until he sent the first person in. Most of them were males, there were a couple of females. When Scarlett looked over all the files, she tapped her fingers on her desk, becoming impatient.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Scarlett straightened in her chair and fixed her clothes a little before telling them to enter.

It was a male around her age, maybe older. He was incredibly cute, but it was obvious he was nervous.

"Hello, take a seat," Scarlett motioned to the chairs in front of her desk. He quickly did as she said and Scarlett noticed how his leg shook. "What's your name?"

"Lu Dinghao, Ma'am."

Scarlett's day seemed very long. She was on her last interview, ready to go home and fall asleep.

Like the past couple times, a knock on the door sounded and Scarlett told them to enter.

This time, the boy surprised her. He was extremely handsome and wasn't dressed how the others had dressed. People would say it was very unprofessional, but Scarlett didn't mind. Not in the slightest since she had been getting bored with the other applicants.

Her eyes roamed over him. He was dressed in a leather jacket, a white muscle shirt, some black pants, and a pair of dark leather shoes.

"Hello, I'm Jeffrey Tung."
