Akane had put in her hard-earned vacation time for the year and headed to a small cabin she purchased in the Japanese Alps. It was tucked on a bluff overlooking a beautiful valley. It was the one time of the year she was happiest and she worked overtime the rest of the year to be able to take this time off. She turned off her personal vehicle and smiled as the numerous memories dance behind her eyes. She climbed out of the car and grabbed her few bags of groceries. She had an entire closet of clothes here permanently so she never had to pack anything other than food.

Unlocking the door, she stepped inside, inhaling the faint scent of cigarettes and whiskey. She kicked the door shut before heading to the smaller kitchen and putting away all the groceries. She had arrived later than she had wanted because of covering an extra shift, which earned her another day off, so she changed into a pair of soft, silk, black shorts, and a silky red tank top. She lit up the fireplace, throwing in a couple pieces to let it burn throughout the night and pulled a pack of cigarettes out of the nearby desk's drawer and set it on top of the desk before heading to the bedroom. She slid in under the sheets, laying comfortably on her side as she drifted off to sleep.

Akane mumbled awake as she heard a slight shuffling across the floor, usually, this would make her jump but she knew the plan all along. There was an added weight on the right side of the bed before arms wrapped around Akane's small frame. Pulling her into his muscular mass. "Kogami..."

Her voice was a hushed, rough voice as she felt every muscle in her body relax and the pieces of their bodies, click together like a puzzle. "Took you long enough to show up."

There was a soft chuckle, "I wanted to make sure I got you something you'd remember till next year. I'll give it to you in the morning."

Akane rolled over in his arms looking at her lover and smiling as she placed a hand on his cheek. "I missed you Shinya."

Shinya smiled, moving some of the hair from her face before leaning in and kissing her softly. "I missed you too, Akane. Close your eyes, we can talk in the morning." Akane nodded, her eyes flickering close, as she pulled herself closer to him.

Kogami looked down at the brown haired inspector he had grown to love so extensively. She laid peacefully in his arms, he could feel her sides shifting slightly as she breathed. Kogami always had troubles sleeping, he tended to relive the cases he'd been on during his time as an Inspector, an enforcer and even as someone in the rebellion. The body of his former friend and enforcer, Sasayama, always tended to keep him away at night when he needed to rest, part of the reason he believed his psycho-pass had hued to extensively. He became obsessive in his chase for justice. He shook his head gently clearing the thoughts that crept to the surface like they did every night.

He could feel the warmth emanating off of the woman he held close. Her warmth, her scent, her beautiful personality and of course, her beautiful frame, was worth every risk he had to take to be here. He would have fought a thousand men to be here, with her. He inhaled her scent as the problems that plagued him every night, faded and his eyelids grew heavy. Inhaling one more time before he allowed sleep to consume him.

Kogami stayed sleeping, for the first time in what felt like ages. The sun that shone on his face, gently woke him up. His eyes opened and a smile graced his face as he saw the love of his life sleeping peacefully where she had been all night. He leaned down and placed a kiss on her forehead before gently lifting her up to free his arm and then tucking her back in as she continued to doze. He snuck out of the room and grabbed the pack of smokes, Akane had left out the night before. He removed a cig from the pack and lit it before making his way over to the fridge, removing a carton of eggs and a few other ingredients for omelets. Few minutes into his surprise he quickly went over to his jacket pocket, removing his gift from the inner pocket and returned to finish up the touches. He plated the meal and placed them on a tray before heading towards the bedroom. He placed the boxed gift on the tray before quietly opening the door. He set the tray on the side table then leaned down to the brunette's soft lips and kissing her awake. "Good morning, beautiful."

A grin appeared on her face, as she opened her eyes, wrapping her arms around his neck and pulled him closer, kissing him deeply. "Good morning, handsome." She responded with a chuckle before releasing him. She sat up, against the backboard. "How'd you sleep?"

"You know the few times we get to sleep together, I sleep better then I do all year long." Shinya smiled warmly, grabbing the tray and placing it on her lap, before sitting beside her in the bed, slipping her arm behind her back as he held her. "Now eat up."

Akane nodded and chuckled, looking over his good work. She had learned in the past few years he was a hell of a cook, but a black box, wrapped in a purple ribbon, was what caught her eye. She smiled, leaning closer to him as she picked up the box. She held it in the palm of her hand for a moment before tugging on the ribbon. The ribbon fell away and she opened the box to expose a simple diamond ring on a silver band. She smiled pulling it from the box as she teared up to see an engraving on the inside, "My love for you calms all tempests."

She looked up at Shinya, tears dancing in her eyes. "Will you marry me, Akane Tsunamori?"

She set the tray on the side of her so she could move more freely and leaned up kissing him like it was the last kiss they would ever share. It seemed to last for eternity, she felt the same sparks she had since the first time she met him. "Only took you 7 years." Her grin was lopsided as she joked. "Of course, I will, my love."

Shinya kissed her one more time before sliding the ring onto her finger and holding her close. "Eat your breakfast, beautiful."

She did just that but shared with him. They laughed and smiled as they created yet another memory in their home. Yeah, Home was a good title for this place. Subconsciously both of them knew that they had been calling this place home, the moment they purchased it. The home where he could finally sleep, and hold onto what he felt mattered most. "I love you, Akane. I can't wait until I can watch you walk down that aisle into my arms."

She rested her head on his chest, "I love you too, Shinya. I can't wait until my family names changes to Kogami. But until then, just hold onto me and never let me go."

Shinya's arms wrapped around her tighter as requested, "Never."

A/N: It's been nearly 3 years since my last post and for that I apologize, I started working and lost my muse to write, but I am finally finding it again and I hope you all can forgive me for the long break and as I relearn how to write. <3 Thank you.
