"Time of death...16:44." The doctor said.

They did their best to revive her but when she arrived at the hospital she was barely alive. So much internal damage that it was only a miracle that her heart was beating upon arrival.

"How's the daughter?" A nurse asked.

"She's getting a head CT at the moment then going to get an arm cast. But at the moment she's so far...stable. We need to call the mothers emergency contact though."

The nurse looked heartbroken thinking about that little girl who just lost her mother.

"May I stay by her side until family or someone comes for her?"

The doctor nodded looking broken to call the contact. Whoever it is, is about to get the worst news anyone can get.

"Hello, sir. My name is Doctor Cho. Is this Dong Young-bae? Well, this is urgent and can only rely on this message to him...GET HIM ON THE PHONE NOW!"

Taeyang's P.O.V.

We just finished another song and my mom and sister still haven't arrived. The place I reserved for them still remains empty. I'm curious why they're so late but then again, we still have an hour and a half left.

We ran off the stage for a short break and costume change. We were pretty hyped from the fans chanting for us. Rushing to change and having a moment to breathe I hear my manager having a heated conversation with someone. He keeps looking at me debating if I have time to talk to someone. I decided to take it since I had a second and it could have been my mom or sister.

But now I wish I didn't. I wish I was in the dark just for a little longer.

"Is this Dong Young-bae?"

"Yes, sir. Who is this?"

"I'm Doctor Cho and I'm so sorry sir. Your mom and sister have been in a terrible accident."

My heart stopped at that moment. I was just hoping they were running late. I just spoke to them both!

''Are they okay?"

I heard the doctor sigh on the other line.

"Mister Young-bae...when can you come to the hospital? I think we just need to talk face to face."

"TELL ME NOW! ARE THEY BOTH OKAY?!"

"I'm so sorry. Your mom died upon arrival but your sister is stable. She has a broken arm and a few cuts but so far she seems fine. She's getting a head CT scan at the moment."

I didn't realize I dropped my phone. I was in complete shock. My manager and friends ran to me because my legs decided to give out at that time as well. GD grabbed my phone talking to the doctor while the rest of the guys were trying to bring me back to reality. But I didn't want to come back. I wanted to stay numb for a little while longer and just believe everything was fine. Until GD started shaking me.

"Your sister is still alive Taeyang. She's going to need you there. I know it's hard right now but you need to go to her. We'll finish up here and meet you at the hospital. GO!"

Time seemed to slow down next. I don't remember entering a car. I don't remember leaving the stadium.

Ever had one of those moments where life is passing you by and you're on the sidelines watching it all happen. That's what I'm going through. People, cars, buildings are rushing right past me but time has seemed to just slow down in my head.

Arriving at the hospital and my manager and I walking to the front desk. The lady seemed so tired.

"Is Doctor Cho around? He called me about my family?"

The lady seemed to have softened her eyes meeting mine.

"Yes, I'll call him down immediately. Please take a seat in the waiting room."

Taking a seat wasn't an option though. My mind was racing on what just happened. When my father died...it was hard. But I had my mother there beside me and having her by seemed to lessen the heartache. But she's not here to help. What about my sister?! She's too young to be missing both parents.

"Dong Young-bae I presume?"

I nodded my head and shook his hand.

"I'm sorry about your mother. We did all that we could. But your sister is in recovery. She seems to be perfectly fine."

"Can I see her?"

He leads me down the hall to see my sister all bandaged up with cuts and bruises on her face, legs, and arms.

"She may look a little beaten up but everything should heal within a couple of months. Do you guys have any other family members to take care of her? Or maybe just to call?"

I thought back but my mom was an only child and I don't even know my aunts name on my dad's side. So I just shook my head.

"Social services will need to speak with you. She is only a child and do you think you can parent her?"

I was barely an adult myself. I just turned 20 and I live in a small place with four other guys. But I can't just leave her. She's all I have left.
